Scott Keith Staeben passed away in his home in Colorado Springs on January 9th, 2023 at the age of 72.
Scott was born on April 21, 1950 at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois.
After spending part of his childhood in Germany where his father, Lieutenant Colonel Fred Staeben was stationed with the Air Force, he moved to Palmer Lake where he graduated from Lewis-Palmer High School in 1968. The following year he joined the Air Force like his late father and was honorably discharged in 1973. He then went on to graduate from Regis University.
Scott had a very successful career as a Realtor in Colorado Springs. In addition to practicing Real Estate he was active in the community, teaching Riders Edge courses and firearms safety classes.
Scott is survived by his long time friend and companion Linda Thompson, his son Matt Staeben, his daughter Mandy Harper, his son in-law Keith Harper and his grandchildren, Lincoln, Kylie, Carson and Payton. His brother Bill Staeben and sister in-law Sherry Staeben and nieces, Katey and Jenny.
A private family service will be held for Scott. If you feel inclined to honor him he felt passionate about his dogs, and he regularly contributed to the Humane Society.

Scott was a good neighbor and always had a kind word for our dogs. I miss seeing him walking the neighborhood with Max.

I remember Scott as a gentle, kind, soft spoken and patient man. Qualities absolutely perfect as a motorcycle safety instructor. Rest in peace Scott.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Scott's passing. He was a good person. I knew his entire family while both of our families lived on Red Rock Ranch. And we attended Lewis Palmer High School. May he rest on the right hand of God for eternity.
