Scott Stanec Obituary

Dear Don, Sue and family,
I don't know why I was looking at the Gazette today, living here in Ames, Iowa, but when I saw this........I was just floored. You were great neighbors and friends and your kids were an integral part of our lives - Sandy babysitting Eric as I went into labor with Kristin. Scott was a wonderful big brother, I can still see him playing ball on Gilcrest! At sad times like this, I can only think that he was doing what he loved to do when he died. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time!

Scott Stanec was a great teacher and coach. I knew him at Calhan. Prayers to his family, friends, and Mann for the loss they have suffered. Bye Coach.

I met Mr. Stanec when my children were attending Mann middle school. He was a wonderful man, with a wonderful personality. He had a great rapour with the children. He will be missed. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.. The Guillaume Family

Dear sandy, i am writing to you specific like this because i cant find you on facebook. I want very much to offer my silent but strong emotional support-for you to draw on -emotional stamina-it is key to -im so sorry Sandy-i know what its like to miss a brother. I thank god for the gift of my brother-I urge you to feel the love all around you. it is all around you all the time. i havent and never will stop missing mine. grief and family dynamics dealing with it can drain you. Give it to God by rembering the privilage of having Scott as your brother in your life-"what you think about and thank about you bring about"- remember this sandy it will get u thru when your tired or sad. Kris Stanec molded me into an educator, and I am heartbroken to hear of the family's loss. My thoughts are with you in this terribly difficult time.

I knew Mr. Stanec from Swiss Semester, and I think I can speak for all those who were a part of the program in saying that he will be loved and missed by all of us. He put a smile on everyone's face and just made all of us feel at home. Scott was a dad to me when I was away from my own and a dear friend as well. I am so sorry for your loss Mrs. Stanec, DJ, Emme and the rest of his family and friends'.

Dear Sue & Don, I was so sorry to hear about your son. I was talking to Judy McKee (McSparin) and she told me. What a dynamic young man he appears to have been...a inspiration to all around him. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I've known Scott since Watson Jr. and then Widefield High. He was a true leader. He always made everyone feel apart of the school even back then and I see he continued with that into adulthood. To the entire Stanec family my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My son Raymond attended Mann while Scott was Principle. He lost his father in an auto accident the Aug prior to his 5th grade entry. It was an extremely difficult period of life for us both. Raymond had a lot of struggles at Mann and Scott was always a positive influence and role model. Neither of us have forgotten his understanding ways, his fairness or, the firmness he handled the situations with. Raymond is doing better now and has become a hard worker thanks to people like Scott influencing his life. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. May God be with and bless your family.

Wonderful, wonderful person! I've not met a middle school principal who can outshine Mr. Stanec's love ffor his students and the respect he showed them as fellow human beings. Amazing man!

Remembering many times when Scott was full of life and laughter back in the 80's. His dedication to his community and his impact as an educator were the things he was known for when friends from home would talk about him over the years. To his family, your loss is shared among many.

Although we originally looked at Mann because of the resources available to our daughter, Scott was the reason we chose Mann. His welcoming smile and the way he interacted with the students was incredible. With hundreds of students at the school, he always greeted my daughter by name. He will truly be missed. May you be comforted at this time of loss.

There are those whose light shines so brightly, so lovingly, on all they encounter. That light never fades, as it is passed from one heart to another; loving energy shared and multiplied in all the lives Scott touched - this lives on forever. Dear Stanec Family Mr. Stanec was a great teacher! I attended Calhan High and enjoyed his teaching and coaching. He had a big impact on a lot of people and will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Stanec family, I attended school with Scott at Watson jr high and Widefield high. Although we didn't stay in touch after school, Scott was always someone who would befriend almost anyone. I will always remember him as someone who was outgoing and supportive of his friends and family. his successes in life come as no surprise to those who knew him for even a minute. my condolences to you and your families. I am so sorry to hear this. I believe he is the son of Mr. Stanec the Principal of Sproul Jr High. I was just looking up Widefield on Facebook and came across memorial page. He sounds like he was someone that made a huge impact on others lives....it is truely a sad time. Lisa Bowman

Scott was indeed a very dedicated and much loved teacher while he was at Calhan. Fellow teachers always loved his spark and fun-filled ways. Prayers of comfort sent to his family from Calhan.
