I want Seth's friends and family to know that he is still being thought of every Memorial Day and every December. My husband served with him and because he remembers Seth every Memorial Day and every December now that is who I am thinking of too. He is still held in memory by those he served with. We remember him today and think of you as well.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Stanton Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Seth M. Stanton US Army Private 1st Class. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.

Seth was a brave young man who served his country well and made his parents very proud! Seth had touched many lives... That event on 17Dec 06 started a landslide that would take years to recover from. The tragedy was the worst thing that could happen to a mother, the loss of her son. I will never forget the pain and anguish in Anna's eye’s and face as the tears rained down. It was a horrifying experience to have happen to such a sweet person. I wish i could have done more, I am very sorry. The trauma had pushed us over the edge and changed our lives forever. The previous weekend we were making ginger bread homes with Dylan and getting ready for Christmas, the next weekend everything had changed and the future uncertain.
God Bless you Anna and the boys. I pray everyone is doing well; healthy, happy and safe!

Wow, I rememeber the day I found out Seth passed. I was at a Christmas party with my co-workes from Panera. Me being the GM I invited all my managers over for drinks at Champs in Briargate. I looked at the screen and saw his name and face flash. I was stunned. I couldn't bel that a kid I used to manage and love to talk to had died. Its been 4 years, and ive never forgotten that day. Seth your missed by all the lives you touched. Thanks again for always making me laugh and keeping me sane :")

To Seth's family: I am a distant relative and only met Seth when he was a little boy. I have a son who has served in the Navy for 24 years, so I know what it is to have such a dedicated young man in your family who is willing to give his all for his country and all other Americans. I am in hopes that someone in Seth's family will contact me or have my cousin Jurhee contact me. My search for her led to my discovery of your loss of Seth in 2006. My blessings to you all. Seth:
It's been two years. I still miss you every day. I deploy in less than a year, and I'm a little nervous, but i wouldn't be doing it if it weren't for you. You were always teaching me to be strong... but I hope to continue and finish what you started. I carry your name with me always. I love you, bud.

I didn't know Seth. I served in Iraq at the same time that he did. I was working in the military hospital in Balad when he was brought in. I was in the ER when he passed on and I was able to honor him there by being present as they took him home. I have been touched by all the comments that people have made about him. I hope to keep his sacrifice known and allow his legacy to continue. I am working on a project, the Legacy Project, at my NCO school and we are picking soldiers to honor that have lost their lives. I plan to honor Seth Stanton as I have worn a memorial bracelet with his name on it for almost two years. Thanks Seth for what you did and I am deeply sorry for those that have lost him in their lives.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Seth, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

My very best memory of Seth was when I was at his Grandparents home. His Grandmother and I were talking, and Seth was standing close by listening. I was very impressed by how he contucted himself, although he was only about 12. He was quiet, did not interrupt, and seemed interested in what we were saying. I thought he was remarkable then!
Seth chose to give up his future for a stranger. He walked willingly in that path. Scarcely will a man give up his life for a friend, but Seth did so for a stranger.
Seth is a HERO in the truest form! A lost that will always hurt because it was such a great loss.
We will look forward to the day when we finally see Seth again and can say to him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant!
Thank you Lord for the promise of a better life to come.

We met this past weekend in Estes Park. I didn't get your contact info and do want to keep in touch. I think it would be good for several of us to at least meet informally now and then here in CS. I hope that it would be of help to you and I know it would be for me.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I DID NOT KNOW SETH BUT I GRIEVE FOR YOU AND WITH YOU. MY SON-IN-LAW WAS KILLED IN IRAQ IN JANUARY OF 2007. NICK WAS IN 2/7 CAV AND LEFT BEHIND A YOUNG WIFE AND NEWBORN SON. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IN THIS GUEST BOOK I FEEL THAT SETH WAS THE KIND OF SOLDIER AND GENTLEMAN NICK WAS. EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW THAT WE WILL SEE THEM AGAIN IT HURTS SO MUCH TO LOSE THEM IN THIS MANNER. TONY BLAIR ONCE SAID THAT TWO PEOPLE DIED FOR YOU, JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SOUL AND THE AMERICAN G.I. FOR YOUR FREEDOM. I THANK SETH AND HIS FAMILY FOR HIS SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. THANK YOU,

I heard the news of your great loss...a young man about to embark on his life's journey, but still the young child in a mother's heartstrings...I wish you peace from your sorrow. I knew of the great joy and love his grandparents, the DeMellos, have always expressed for Anna's boys. My heart is with you. I pray for God's strength to continue to guide you thru this difficult passage.

I met Seth about seven months ago online in a computer game we both played. We became allies in the game and, over the course of several months, we became friends. I only heard from him a few times after he went to Iraq, and today I typed his name in Google and got the bad news.

I miss him and I'm sorry I'll never get the chance to meet him. His intelligence, determination, and courage were inspirational to me, and my condolences go out to his family, and my thanks also, for in raising Seth to be the man he was, they gave the world a treasure.

“Soldier”
To Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Heaven's Call
.
Heaven called and you were taken
So young to go, to young to know

The call of heaven did not wait
Your time here a short stay
You were called away
To be part of God’s everlasting garden

Borrowed seed from the Master
A small little bud that graced us with your beauty
Now returned upon heaven’s call

A finely chosen rose
Taken before it bloomed
Before your beauty had time to unfold

He is the Gardner and you his prize winning bud
Perhaps He seen a storm that you could not with stand
So he picked you before the wind would fall

The memories forever etched in our hearts
Our little bud now blooms
With the angels up on high

Anna, Steve, & the rest of the Family, My heart cried when I heard about Seth. Even though I didn't know Seth, he was a HERO in my books, a man that willingly and proudly paid the price for my country & for my freedom. The pain is so raw now & words cannot describe the feeling you have but time will heal. The scar will be always be there but the pain will subside. You are in my thoughts & prayers now & will be in the months to come, praying that the Holy Spirit will comfort you in ways only He can comfort. Seth is now enjoying the banqueting table that Jesus has prepared for us all and is anxiously awaiting the day when you'll all be together.

Now he is standing with his Father in Glory, thanking Him for the family that was given to him here on Earth. December 26, 2006

Seth, your family and our community have suffered a great loss. I am so, so sorry.
You were so young and had so much potential. Now all that you were and could have been is
lost to us, as a community, and to your family. You were one of the good kids--as are your brothers.
My grief and prayers now go out to your family. No longer can they pray for you or hope for the best for you. That has
been taken from them. You have been taken from them. Words are insufficient to express their loss or grief and are of little--if any--comfort.
You died for your country--for us. But this, too, is of little comfort. To your family I would say,
"Know that Seth still lives." You do, but not in this realm. Nevertheless, you do still live.
But this knowledge, also, is of little comfort. To you, I would quote Shakespeare and say,"Goodnight
sweet prince: and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!" May God, himself, keep you, and comfort your family.

However, he was a joy to meet and I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I couldn't believe it when I saw the e-mails or when Michelle called me asking for prayers. Dear Steve and Anna,
My thoughts and prayers go out to your family with your loss. I know your faith will see you through these difficult days ahead. I remember hearing stories about Seth. Steve may God surround your family with peace in knowing YOUR "Seth" is now singing with the Angels. Love Donna Perry(mother of Steve's former student Kevin Perry from Woodland Park, Colorado).

Knowing Seth as a baby but not well as a young man I can see through pictures and hear through words and letters what a HERO a, magnificant young man, and joy to all who knew him, he was. You, the family, are left with a huge hurt and emptiness that no one can discribe or understand but those who have lost ones so dear. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers TODAY and for YEARS to come, knowing and learning myself that time does heal but also knowing that to often people forget that it takes TIME.
In His name
Jody
Thank you Seth for serving our God and Country. You are a HERO in my Book.

I didn't know your son, but I know being an ex-soldier and spouse how devestating it is to lose a loved one, ecspecially so close to the holidays. My heart and prayers go out to you all for your loss. But I thank your family for raising such a fine person to put their life on the line for the people of the United States of America. God bless you all. Know that your loss is a loss to all of the U.S and soldiers around the world.

There are two blessings in this sorrowful, grievious tragedy: Seth Michael Stanton is with Jesus and he is no longer in harms way. In Christ I honor and salute his commitment and sacrifice. I also deeply grieve with his mother Anna, my friend and sister in The Lord, along with all relatives and friends of the family. In Jesus name, Amen.

Seth was a newborn baby when I first met him - and he soon became a wonderful young man. I look forward to the day we meet him again in Heaven - I do hope this year brings you even closer to your family and friends as Seth is right there besides you all.

To Seth's family: Please know that you are being remembered in prayer at this dreadfully sad time. I would have liked to have known Seth...a courageous, young soldier! A special fondness is in my heart for Eric, Michelle and family. May it be a comfort to all of you in knowing that others share your heartache. May God bless all of you! With love, Pat

Please know how deeply sorry I am, for the loss of Pfc. Seth M. Stanton,
As a parent, who has lost a daughter suddenly,
and as a sister, who has lost a brother to war,
I am aware of the deep and devastating pain that you are experiencing.
The overwhelming heartache, seems to surface through our shock, as the time passes.
Please hang on to your Faith and know that you will get through this.
Ever so softly and slowly, time does heal.

May this Brave Young Hero Rest Safely, in the Loving Care of God
and know that he Will Never Be Forgotten.
I pray that the Peace of God will be with the Stanton family.
I am the sister, of such a 19 Year Young Hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, 12/6/67.

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. Psalm 55:22

I am sincerely hoping you can feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the days ahead, as this Country mourns with you, for someone very precious to you, who is a Hero to all of us.
