Shane Michael Golden was struck and killed by a drunk driver while driving home on his motorcycle on March 12.
Shane was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. After graduating high school from Kenston in 2012, he moved to Akron, Ohio. He attended the University of Akron and started a motorsports company with his best friend, Wade Paulitsch. Shane moved to Colorado Springs in 2017, where, soon after, he found his place working in the motorcycle community. Shane started riding dirt bikes and loved motorcycles from a young age. He was a skilled rider both on and off the road. His passion for motorcycles and cars shone through in his work and his hobbies. He was a willing teacher and an eager learner.
He never had a bad day; it was like he didn't know how to. He'd regularly ask people, "Was it a bad day or a bad moment in the day?" Shane's positivity and light illuminated every room he walked into and made a lasting impression on everyone he met. If he was in the room, there was laughter. The lives of those who knew him are now dimmer.
Shane invited everyone into his world and made them better because of it. He didn't let the opinions of others influence his decisions or philosophy on life. He lived every day how he wanted to.
He was kind, intelligent, genuine, caring, thoughtful, full of laughter, and an amazing human being. He was easy to love. He was the first person to lend a helping hand, open his home, and take care of the people around him.
Shane loved to travel and adventure with his partner, Parker Seibold, and their two dogs. He valued adventure and living his life more than money or status. He was a true example of living every day like it's your last.
Shane's grandmother, Mary Golden, and grandfather, Ronnie Golden, gave him the fiber to live the life he deserved. Life brought his younger brother, Brett Nelson, back into his life in Colorado when he moved in with Shane over a year ago. Shane willingly took on the role of mentor with the love only a big brother can carry.
We miss him.
There will be a short memorial ride for Shane at 10 a.m. at Colorado Springs Powersports and a celebration of life service at 11 a.m.

I did not know Shane well but know he brought great joy and love into the life of my niece, Parker. My heart goes out to her and the families as they mourn their loss.
