Shannon worked for my husband's law firm for many years. I also rented an office from that firm from July 1992-January 1998. So sad to read of her passing. Also interesting timing. I had been thinking about her LOTS before I read the obituary, every time I washed my kitchen towels during this Corona Virus outbreak. When we shared office space, Shannon preferred to use the paper towels in the kitchen because she thought it was more sanitary (which of course was right). However, my husband and I thought it was more environmentally sound to use cloth towels and I happened to have some from an old apartment that matched the ORANGE countertop in the office. Every so often Shannon would plop the towels on either my desk or my husband's desk as a way of not so subtly telling us it was time to wash the kitchen towels! Since reading of her passing, I am also reminded of how patient she was with our daughter. When we adopted her from China in 1995, we brought her to work with us, mostly for naps in the afternoon because there was a crib in my husband's office. Naps didn't always go according to plan and Shannon was great when that happened. Further, Shannon attempted to help us adopt our son from Vietnam by notarizing (using a gold seal on each document as required by Vietnamese orphanage) LOTS of paperwork in 1997. She was really embarrassed when the CO Secretary of State informed her that her notary seal hadn't been renewed unbeknownst to her because something got lost in the mail. So, we had to re-do our paperwork with a different notary in the office. Rest in peace, Shannon. You impacted lots of peoples' lives. We have fond memories of you. I hope you ultimately end of with the celebration of your life you deserve after the world stops being so crazy.

Hi Kathy, I hope you see this as I couldn't find a way to reply to your comment. Shannon loved her art and I did find an article of six different non-profit art organizations that you could donate to in her honor. https://theknow.denverpost.com/2017/11/30/colorado-gives-day-donate-big-but-think-different/168307/. Thank you for the kind words. -Cindy Diestelkamp

So sad to learn of Shannon's passing. She helped my late husband, Ken Covell, with his legal work and then we worked together with the MacDougall group. I could always count of Shannon for a smile, a comforting word, a pat on the back and a good joke! I lost track of her after I moved from Colorado Springs. Is there a charitable organization where I can make a contribution in her honor??
