She had a strong and courageous will, surviving almost 64 years with cystic fibrosis and a double lung transplant nine years ago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Maurath.

I have many wonderful memories of Sharon when we were growing up. As kids we played together a lot. When she came home to PA to visit we always made time to get together and catch up on old times. I will miss her.

Sharon was a sweet and wonderful Christian lady who always had a smile on her face and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a blessed friend whom I will never forget. She has gone onto to be with her Lord where she is no longer suffering the frailty of this fallen world. The world is brighter because of her.

Sharon was a terrific person who had to fight her whole life to overcome what life threw at her. Her problems were rarely of her own making, but she did the best she could given her situation. Fortunately, she had a few close friends and relatives to ease the burden, and I know she greatly appreciated them all. She defied the odds against her for decades. I hope she is finally at peace.
