Sharon Wood Obituary

Sharon Kay Wood, born March 14, 1950, was taken suddenly from us after a long bout with cancer on May 22, 2012. Sharon was the Business Operations Flight Chief for the 10th FSS at the United States Air Force Academy. She had over 35 years of continuous service for the Air Force. Sharon is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charlie; son Charlie II(Heather); beloved grandson Charlie III; mother Phyllis; sisters Kathy, Suzy and Shelly; brothers Earl and Darrell; and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Earl Lindsey, and son, Dwayne Wood. A Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held May 30, 2012, 4pm, at the USAFA Falcon Club. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to her favorite charity, St Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences at www.evergreenfuneralhome.org

To the entire Wood family,

May the good lord bless you as you mourn the loss of your beloved mother, wife, sister, and daughter.

I first met Sharon when she managed the class six store at Beale AFB, CA. Her success led her to become one of the first to be recruited as a Air Force club manager, as she was selected for entry intro the Strategic Air Command club manager intern program. She continued to excel and the rest is history.

Sharon, your legacy lives on. Rest in peace. May God bless!

With sympathy
