Father,
You wrote the story of Shawn's life. You always went before him, You were on both sides, and followed him from behind. Before a breath beyond his death, You were with him all the way to everlasting.
Shawn new he could never run or hide from You. Even his darkest moments were light, because there is no darkness in You. From his lowest place, to his highest praise, he proclaimed that You alone were worthy.
Father, You searched Shawn. You knew his heart. You tried him and knew his anxious thoughts. You found the weakness in him and lead him in the way everlasting. You alone are worthy.
Father, You formed Shawn in his mother's womb. You knew his frame, his flesh, his bone. Oh how wonderfully he was made! When Shawn spoke of the marvelous works You had done in his life, it was almost too hard to explain. You saw him through and through, but You called him Your beloved. What a wonderful grace! How amazing is Your love?!
There is only one thing left to say. You alone are worthy!
Shawn, You were larger than life. Your passion for Christ and His truth was contagious, still is. You were the most incredible story teller, I've never laughed so hard! My heart broke when I heard of your passing. I will miss you dearly. Till we meet on the other shore.

The only comfort of Shawn's absence is knowing Whose presence he's in. I believe he would want us all to know Who he's with and the hope we have in Him. Shawn's love and understanding of the Word was remarkable. It was a gift to hear him recite it, sharing its deep truths and hidden gems. His passion for the Word was contagious and is his legacy. I miss his voice, his laugh, his incredible sense of humor, big blue eyes and mostly his beautiful heart. I look forward to the day we will praise Jesus' holy name together in paradise.

I am missing you so much but grateful for the 44years you were here with us. Enjoyed getting close to you when you moved to Florida. I always looked forward to our time at the beach on Mondays. I know you are with Jesus, and I am comforted by that.

Shawn, I was lucky enough to have you as my brother for 39 years, and I will miss you dearly. You had an incredible sense of humor that will keep me laughing for years to come, and your ability to connect with others on a personal level was always incredible to watch. Until we meet again...farewell.
