Sheila Cash Obituary

Sheila Ann Cash, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on November 24, 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia, July 7, 1943 the second of two daughters to the late John and Margaret Huffman.

Sheila graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1961 and briefly attended nursing school before marrying the love of her life on New Year's Eve in 1965.

Family and friends were extremely important to her and she particularly enjoyed large family holiday celebrations. She liked cross-stitching, card games, camping, fishing and playing on her favorite slot machines. But of all things, she loved bowling the most, serving as league secretary for more than 30 years and bowling in three leagues a week until her passing.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of nearly 49 years, Frank Cash; loving daughters Penny Cruz and Dana (Tim) Ausec, both of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren Kurt, Kenda, Taylor and Tanner; sister Joan (Richard) Lambert; as well as a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Swan-Law Chapel, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center.

Sheila was a wonderful special lady. She was the my very first Bowling League Secretary at Ute Lanes in 1973, since I had never bowled before she was my bowling angel. Through the years, she has been a friend, made me
laugh and we had some good talks. Will miss her!! Lots of memories to be
cherished by the family. My sincere sympathy and condolences.

I have enjoyed Sheila's friendshiip for many years. We always had fun together she always had a smile on her face. She would donate to the westside children in need at my school during Christmas. Travelling with her was always fun I feel I have a super angel watching over me now.

I would like to share a story about Sheila, each year, our small buisness on the Westside has a collection for the less forunate. When Sheila heard about this, she came by and dropped off 25 handknitted hats she had made. Sheila did this every year after that without being asked..........
Thank you Sheila, we will miss you.

Sheila was a very special person and I will truly miss her. I still really find it hard to believe she is gone. I will truly miss our friendly competition at bowling. It really will never be the same there for me. I feel honored to have known her. Blessings my friend, Sue
