Sherry and I were friends for 48 years almost to the day. We met the first day of school when we were entering the 5th grade. We have been best and worst friends through all these years but we were always friends.
We survived our years together at Harrison and we were roommates several years in collage and later.
We were good kids (??) and we had a lot fun discovering the world together. One of my fondest memories, among many, was her pink Rambler. We named her Rosie and we ran her until she died of exhaustion or maybe it was because we forgot to put oil in her. Anyway we had many many fun times in Rosie.
Sherry will always be a part of me. We grew up and grew wise together. In the past few years we were seperated by miles but we always knew we were one phone call away and we would be there anytime that call was made. Sherry, I love and miss you! You will always be in my heart!

I guess I was about 6 or 7 years old before I really knew that Sherry was not my sister. Even then it seemed as though she had always fit that role almost as well as my own sister. Although it hasn't been often the past years, I always found comfort in her smile and always felt her love, copmpasion, and sense of caring - even though she'd remind me of my responsibility to show up at family picnics.
Sherry had always been that anchor in our family, which brought us back to who we were and our heritage - she never forgot and never let you forget.
Sherry also believed in me. When I was very young I wanted to be a police officer and I can still remember the encouragement she provided and the tour of the police building in Colorado Springs where she worked. Having worked there myself for several years and achieving that dream, I would always remember that tour and look back on that day with fondness. As a matter of fact, when I first started at the police department, several of the veteran officers knew Sherry and spoke so highly of her. I was extremely proud to be her cousin and today as I still sorrow at her passing, I am indeed proud to be counted among the countless lives she has touched with her love.

I worked with Sherry for a total of 11 years at two different companies. She was a very sweet, down to earth, and cheerful co-worker who extended the hand of friendship to all those around her. I always enjoyed her company. My sincere condolences to her mother, brother, and the rest of her family.
