Shirley Ann Goad, 76, passed away January 25, 2021 after a brave and hard fought battle with Covid 19 and complications due to the virus. Shirley was born in Browning Montana, on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, to James Littledog and Catherine SpottedEagle. She resided on the Blackfeet Indian reservation until the time she was 11 years old when she was chosen by Charles and Margaret Knodel to be in her forever home.
Shirley grew up in the Security Colorado area for over 65 years and graduated from Widefield High School. She went on to be successful in business after high school, obtaining a job with Mountain Bell as an operator and then working her way up in the company as it changed through out the years to AT & T and Avaya, eventually she retired from the company after over 30 years of service. While working Shirley raised 3 children with amazing strength and pride. Shirley's family, children, and grandchildren were her everything, she devoted and gave everything she was and had to them. She was the ROCK and strength of her family. Shirley enjoyed working on her home and yard, taking much pride in making it beautiful. She was always busy, working hard at something, always with the intention of giving to someone else, and bringing them joy.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Rebecca Van Pelt, grandchildren Jordan Messisco, Aaron Knodel, Joshua Knodel, Alexis Cerdena, Charles Cerdena, and 4 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margaret Knodel, her son Charles Cerdena, and her daughter Margaret Gipe.
Shirley was a beautiful, strong, and amazing woman, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by all! We will see you in the morning!
The family would like to welcome all family and friends to attend Shirley's visitation on Thursday, 2/4, from 6-8 pm and funeral services on Friday, 2/5, at 4 pm with reception following at Dove Witt Family Mortuary located at 6630 S. U.S. Hwy 85/87 in Fountain Colorado.
