SGT SIERRA CLAIRE HARDEMAN
January 19, 1997 - 2021
SGT Sierra Claire Hardeman was born on January 19, 1997 in Harvey, IL. Sierra graduated in 2015 from Manchester High School in Chesterfield, VA. She enlisted in the U.S. Army March 2018, and completed Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, May 2018, and graduated Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia, as a 92Y Unit Supply Specialist. SGT Hardeman's assignments include Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 70th Brigade Support Battalion, Camp Casey, Korea, Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 2nd Battalion 12th Infantry Regiment and Hazard Forward Support Company of 2nd Battalion 12th Infantry Regiment. She has served as a Unit Supply Specialist and a Unit Supply Noncommissioned Officer.
SGT Hardeman's military education included the Basic Leaders Course (Commandants List). Her awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Superior Unit Award, and the Expert Marksmanship Badge.
She embraced her spirituality, early on, and confirmed her faith through baptism while stationed in South Korea. She loved God, her friends, animals, sunflowers, tattoos, Bob Marley, The Beatles, chicken nuggets, pizza, Kid Cudi, music, nature and family.
She is survived by her parents, Christopher Hanns & Donna Lynn Hardeman. Her older sisters, Chelsea Kaye Hardeman and Cristina Jean Hardeman. Loving grandparents Willie Ray & Brunetta Hardeman and Frances Mimms Hill. Uncles: Donald Webster Hill Jr, James Ross Hardeman, Willie Ray Hardeman Jr, Steven Barnard Hardeman & Timothy Eric Hardeman. Aunts: Katana T. Hill, Carla Beavers Hardeman, Sandra B. Hardeman & Evangeline Hardeman. Great Aunt & Uncle Sabrina & James Robinson. First Cousins: Darby Nicole Hill, Timothy Hardeman Jr, Tevin Hardeman, Taylor Hardeman, Tristan Hardeman, Steven Hardeman, Sterling Hardeman & Seth Hardeman. Many, many loving relatives and close family friends in Virginia, Texas, Florida and Illinois. And, we can't forget her "squad" of faithful friends.
The Hardeman family would like to thank everyone who has reached out to us during this difficult time. Your love, prayers and well wishes have sustained and enabled us to continue to move forward. We ask that if you would like to donate to an organization in Sierra's name, please consider
donating to your local animal shelter or a local suicide prevention organization. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
Visitation will occur from on Tuesday, April 6th from 10am to 6pm at Mimms Funeral Home at 1827 Hull Street Richmond Va. 23224 Sierra's Memorial Service will be on Wednesday April 7th beginning at 12noon (doors open at 10:30) at the United Nation's Church at 214 Cowardin Ave Richmond Va. 23224.
COVID precautions will be taken at both locations, so please wear a mask and remember to social distance, as much as possible. Masks and gloves will be provided, if anyone needs them.
