Another memory of my father:
He was a man of the world. Before purchasing the Edelweiss restaurant, he lived in Lyon for two years, previously we lived in a wing of a chateau in Villefranch (near Paris) all together for another 2 years. Prior to that he was an international accountant and traveled the world on J&J business. He had friends the world over who sometimes would visit us in Metuchen. There were always interesting gifts that he would bring back from his trips. Somethings like furniture, I don't know how he actually got them home.

My father was intensely invested in social justice. I never hear a prejudiced word against any race. He was very anti fascist, having lived and escaped certain destruction from fascist is Europe. He was anti dictatorship having lived through Peron's dictatorship in Argentina as a young man. Often dinner times had social / political conversations.
What isn't mentioned is he was an avid photographer and had a keen artistic eye. He had a dark room in our basement in Metuchen that he built by himself despite having not much handy ability.

To Sandra and family,
You are in our thoughts.
Simon was a unique individual who left a fond and lasting impression on us. We have so often wondered where your journeys have taken you and regretted having lost touch over the years.
We wish for you fond memories of your travels, your intellectual exchanges and all the wonderful times you shared.
Fondly,
