Stephen South Obituary

Stephen Anthony South Apr 28, 1966 - Apr 21, 2006. HM1(SEAL) Steve South (retired) passed away Friday, April 21 at home in San Diego, CA. Steve retired from the Navy after 20 years of service in April 2005. He was a BUDS Class 182 Graduate. His last command was NSWG-1 LOGSUPPU as the Medical LPO. Former commands were Seal Teams 3/5/7 and SDVT-1. He was a volunteer with the Super Frog Triathalons. A Memorial Service was held May 3, 2006 at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery Point Loma, San Diego County. A reception was held at his home following the memorial service. He is survived by his wife Yolanda South of San Diego, his parents, Larry and Claudia South of Colorado Springs, his brother Michael South of Dremling and Michael's wife Lori and children: Mandy, Eric, Melanie and Sara and grand nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents Lawrence and Ida South (McKittrick), his maternal grandparents Lyle and Marjorie Harvey, his brother Kristopher South and his sister Sarah South. A Celebration of Life for Steve will be held at his parent's home for family and friends at a later date.
