Stephen Young Obituary

I saw this today on my email. I can't believe it's been so long since I saw you and I'm still missing you every day. I saw a little boy today with his taped glasses and i remember us. Me and you, you and me playing together. Best of friends, from day 1, baby brother.

Jacob is such a wonderful young man. Thank you so much for him. You are missed but I am thankful you are no longer in pain.

Rest in Peace dear Stephen. Our family is forever blessed in your legacy Jacob Young!

A day doesn't go by without thinking of you. You could always make me laugh with your whitty saying and your beautiful smile. You were the love of my life since the day you were born until you took your last breath. Part of me has left with you and I'll never be whole again until we are together again. I thought of you today while I was getting ready to attend Maggie and Grace's High School Graduation. I know you would have not missed it for the world. you cared so much for the girls and I know you will be with all of us sharing their special day! Miss you little Brother...

Although I had only met Stephen once, I feel as though I knew him because his mother, Ethel spoke often and fondly of him. My condolence goes to the family. All of Rochelle UMC pray for Ethel and the family.

I met Steve through his wonderful wife, Anne. We became acquainted in Portugal on an Academy trip. From that first visit, I knew that Steve was someone who I would always feel close to. We laughed together and formed a bond that will live on. From that initial introduction, every time we were together, we continued to laugh together. His "plumbing" stories broke me up. Now whenever I remember him, I will smile realizing that he made a difference in my life. He made, no he "makes" me feel good just knowing that we will always be friends. Rest in Peace, my friend.

I wish that I could have know Stephen personally I'm sure he was a kind
and loving person instilled by his Mother and Father. My deepest sympathy to all family members, and especially to my dearest friend, Ethel.

You are in our hearts and thoughts. This was not what we expected when we talked to Uncle Jack Young(TX)today. It is a shame the only time we catch-up is times like these. It has been years since we saw Stephen, but we think fondly of all the family stories.

The love and happy times the Cross /Young families have shared with me over my life is beyond amazing! I was there that Dec.28 while Ethel was in labor with Stephen before she went to the Cordele hospital for his actual birth. As Ethel and Bob moved to their different Air force assignments, we here in Rochelle were always eager to see them on their return visits to Rochelle. Stephen was always a gentle , loving child sparkling with his eagerness for enjoying all aspects of life. My last visit with him was after Bob's death when he shared big hugs , soothing words and wanted all to know how he appreciated everyone's concern and expressions of love for his Mother & family. How precious his daily hourly calls were to Ethel just as long as he was able. Stephen was a GIFT to all who had the opportunity to enjoy him. He was born to fantastic parents and had the guidance of a loving parents with his Mother Ethel, the most positive , upbeat, smiling ,person-always at the wheel of the family. How blessed I am to have been able to be included in the love of this Cross/Young family.

Steve will be missed. I am so thankful to have known him. Love and prayers to his family. I love you Jacob you will carry your dad's love with you forever.

I hung out with my friend Steve in the late 70s and early 80s. He was a kind and gentle person and although we lost touch as I moved to places far away from C Springs, I always kept him in my thoughts. He was a dear friend.

My condolences to the family of my grandson Jacob's dad. Steve was truly one of the very best.

Steve's smile in High School is forever embedded in my mind. He lived life to the fullest and could spread cheer with a glance. Great man. Sheila and I send our thoughts and prayers to all who were lucky enough to know him.

We are so very sad to have lost Steve this past week. He was a great guy, we will always remember his laugh a nod wonderful smile. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those members of his family and friends . He will be missed, but not forgotten. We will continue to pray for him and his family. Loved my Uncle Stephen with all my heart. He taught me every single thing I know about music. When me and my sister were born he made many cd's with all kinds of music on them. We've listened to them our whole life, we know every song, and every word of them. I thank God everyday for all the time we had to spend with him. I know he is up there watching over me. He was really supportive of my paintings. He always told me I'd become a famous artist one day. The last thing he told me was how proud he was of me. And it feels good to know that the last thing I said to him was that I loved him. Bc I do very very much and wish I could've been with him in his last days.

Many of us were on our way to our 35th high school reunion when we found out about Steve's passing. We were all in shock. He was one of my favorite friends in high school. Loved by many. Prayers for his family.

My little brother . What can I say. He's had my heart since the day he was born. My own little baby doll. Now he's pain free and probably golfing with Dad or hitting balls for his dogs. I'm glad to have been there for him and Annie. My love always

It was an honor to meet Stephen and to be able to assist Eric with his cares during his last days here. Stephen always had a smile. May God comfort the family during this time. You all did a great job of caring for him when he couldn't.
