Missing you Steve. It's hard to believe a year has gone by already. It's funny how almost every day now I hear some Stevie Ray Vaughn song that reminds me of you. I know you're rockin' heaven with your little bro.

Belated heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Steve. I still remember seeing Steve play in Toad Farm at the Big Surf in Atlantic Beach back in the early 70's. The funniest musician/surfer at HHS and I'm sympathetic for those closest to Steve.

Im just now starting to get back with old friends from Havelock. My brother Rick told me Steve passed away,and I was sad. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
I remember the night Rick, Bill, Steve, and me were playing at the catholic hall (i think)in Havelock. We decided to put my drums on tables.
We were playing "Fire" by Hendrix.Half way through the song the table with my kick drum started collapsing. Im yelling as loud as I can, STEVE!!STEVE!!.He turned around and I pointed to the table. Right when he grabed the table,the table fell right on top of Steve,and the drums went every where.
We could not help but laugh,and we laughed hard.
Steve was ok then, as he is now.

My dearest sweetest and funniest brother..my best friend. GOD only knows why he wanted you in his world. My angel has fallen into his arms along with by brother Jim. The emptiness in my heart in unbearable. I pray for you, and all, that had the privelage of knowing you. I will miss our frequent phone calls just to tell jokes and laugh! You are one heck of a funny man. I adore the pictures of you from way back and always thought that you looked like Jesus Christ...maybe your a part of HIM. You filled our family w/ love respect and dignity. You always had a wonderful outlook on life...always positive....never make anyone feel left out. Your a great musician, brother and friend. I think about you and Jim all the time. I wish I could see you one more time, but, I know, that you know, how MUCH I love you. May you rest in the comfort of GODs love in heaven and make sure your family stays safe and healthy. My love for you and Jimbo will be forever. Bless you and Love everything that you are. This world has lost a precious soul. I LOVE YOU !-SISTER MICHELE

Alan,and family,
I was sorry to here of your brother's passing. I have been friend,s with you and Steve since the 2nd or 3th grade. You,Steve and I, have done a lot over the years. I can remember many, many things, but the one that stays in my mind the most is the 1st time we all tried to surf. Someone had left there board on the beach,(long board)and we all took turns in the water. That was the start of our surfing days. (Good Old Days) Yes the good old days Hawaiian strike, Gym locker rooms, looking for money under the lockers so we could go to the movies($0.10 back then).I could go on forever with the times we had together.I will always remember you and STEVE, and all the good times we had. From a long time friend.

Uncle Steve,
I heard your voice in the wind today
and I turned to see your face;
The warmth of the wind caressed me
As I stood silently in place.
I felt your touch in the sun today
As it's warmth filled the sky;
I closed my eyes for your embrace
And my spirit soared high.
I saw your eyes in the windowpane
As I watched the falling rain;
It seemed as each raindrop fell
It quietly said your name.
I held you close in my heart today
It made me feel complete;
You may have died... but you're not gone
You will always be a part of me.

Uncle Steve. Even a few months after you've passed and I still expect a phone call from you to talk about our bands and shoot the breeze. I still can't believe you're gone. I miss you so much. You always took the time to keep me from sweating the little details in life and always had a really horrible joke to share with somebody way too young like I was to hear. Your memory lives on with all of those who's lives you've touched in a way that was uniquely you from start to finish.

Steve, you filled in for me on New Years eve down here in Corpus and you mesmerized the crowd. I'm sure you're doing the same in Heaven. I love you not only for your music, (I found her in the corner...), but the person you've always been, and in my memories always will be.

Wow, I found this by accident looking for old friends from Havelock. Steve was a good friend. We surfed together and listened to tons of music. I lost contact over the years. My prayers are with him and his family.

Message to Steve: My brother, you had the biggest heart. You carried so much love for your family and brought us so much fun and entertainment. A Christmas or birthday never went by without a call or visit from you, and it always put a big smile on our faces, I hope you know that. You were my gift. Your siblings were your biggest fans and we were so blessed to have you as our big brother. Guess you can't get any closer to walking on water than surfing. I thought you were the greatest guitar player in the world and I still do. I miss you Steve in so many ways but I know you will be the first one to take my hand along side of Jimbo when we meet again. Till then, My Brother, I will cherish the memories of you. I love you. Diane

I'll never forget biology class. The question of the day was; "what is the definition of ganglia?"
Steve anxiously raised his hand to answer; "when one is grabbed by the throat and gangled to death."
You were one of the cool guys.
Sincere condolences to the Dewitt family.

Steve, you were one of the best "big brothers" a girl could ever have. I know you now have the perfect guitar that will never go out of tune or break a string so you have to play us a sunrise every morning and a sunset every evening. Watch over the rest of us Toad Farmers, please.
Love, Sue
Alan, you and the rest of your family have my heart felt thoughts and prayers.
