Steven Cheski Obituary

Steven Thomas Cheski 50 of Cripple Creek formerly of Denver passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012. He was born in New Jersey on September 7, 1961 and lived in Colorado since age 15. Steven was an honest, hardworking man, kind spirited and a gentle soul with an ever-ready smile. He was a family man who appreciated the simpler things in life. His hobbies were his love for music, playing the drums and remodeling his house. Before becoming an apprentice electrician he worked as a cook and a carpenter/cabinetmaker. Steven was an active member of his church and was faithful to his religious beliefs. Steven is survived by son Jacob Cheski of Denver; mother and step-father Frances & Robert Brown of Woodland Park; father and his wife Thomas & Phyllis Cheski of Idaho; sisters Laura Bartkowski of NJ & Janelle Hill of Colorado Springs; brother Allen Cheski of Denver; nephews Bradley Cheski of Denver & Eric Bartkowski of NJ; niece Jillian Bartkowski of NJ. Also surviving Steven are former wife Olga Cheski of Denver and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral mass will take place at 11:00 am, June 23rd at Our Lady of the Woods Church, Woodland Park, CO, preceded by a sharing of memories at 10:30 am. All are invited to join the family at the luncheon reception immediately following the mass. Memorial donations can be made to Cripple Creek Rehab and Wellness Center, 700 North "A" Street, Cripple Creek, CO 80813 and/or National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Colorado-Wyoming Chapter, PO Box 44279, Denver, CO 80201-4279. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mountain Memorial Services, Divide, CO.
