Steven Kerl Obituary

Steve Kerl passed away on March 1st at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs at the age of 65. He was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Ralph "Lee" and Helen Kerl. He graduated from Wymore HS in 1967, then moved to Denver to become an apprentice carpenter where he helped build the Denver General Hospital. He married his HS sweetheart in 1968. They had three children.

In 1980 he started his appliance installation business, S&K Service. He semi-retired in 2011 and turned the company over to his son. He was a member of the Colorado Cushman Club/Cushman Club of America. He enjoyed restoring old cars/trucks and antique scooters and he loved hunting and fishing. Steve's greatest gifts were his kindness and his never ending capacity to help others. He will be greatly missed by his family and the large number of friends he's accumulated over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Helen Kerl and by his infant son.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barb, his daughter Stephanie (Eric) Ware, son Steve (Kristina) Kerl, three granddaughters; Madasen Olsen, Amber Ware and Trinity Kerl, his sister LeAnne Gillott of Nebraska and his brother Roy (Charli) Kerl of Texas.
