Steven Lee Obituary

Steven will be remembered as a handsome, intellectual, southern gentleman. His joy in life was being with his family and helping others. He left this life way too early and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Steven grew up in Black Forest and graduated from Pine Creek High School. He attended UCCS and PPCC. He is survived by his father; Steve (Rusty) Lee, his mother, Elizabeth (Beth) Lee, and his younger brother; Jack Sentell Lee. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother; Lillybeth Webb and his paternal grandfather; James Lee, who both shared his household for 15 years. Services will be held on Friday, August 6 at 10:30AM at The World Prayer Center at New Life Church, 11025 Voyager Parkway. Services will be officiated by Rev. Byron Copeland from Southlake, Texas. A reception will follow the service at the Lee home in Black Forest. Flowers can be sent to The Springs Funeral Services in Colorado Springs. Any donations can be made to New Life Church on behalf of Steven.

I will always remember Steven zipping around the forest on his dirt bike and coming in the house covered in mud, typical boy! He was a terrific person, very bright and funny. My heart goes out to you all.

Don't Tell Me

Please don't tell me you know how I feel,
Unless you have lost your child too,
Please don't tell me my broken heart will heal,
Because that is just not true,
Please don't tell me my son is in a better place,
Though it is true, I want him here with me,
Don't tell me someday I'll hear his voice, see his face,
Beyond today I cannot see,
Don?t tell me it is time to move on,
Because I cannot,
Don?t tell me to face the fact he is gone,
Because denial is something I can't stop,
Don't tell me to be thankful for the time I had,
Because I wanted more,
Don't tell me when I am my old self you will be glad,
I'll never be as I was before,
What you can tell me is you will be here for me,
That you will listen when I talk of my child,
You can share with me my precious memories,
You can even cry with me for a while,
And please don't hesitate to say his name,
Because it is something I long to hear everyday,
Friend please realize that I can never be the same,
But if you stand by me, you may like the new person I become someday.

We have had your family in our hearts daily as you are some of the kindest and best people we know. Unfortunately God does not spare any of us from tragedy, but he grants us His grace so that we can stay out of despair and look towards hope. Our love to you and your family.
