Steven Spellman Obituary
Steven Richard Spellman was born on February 27, 1949 in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Richard and Doris (Taylor) Spellman. He was a graduate of Hamburg High School, Erie Community College and Buffalo State University in New York. He was also drafted into the Army and served his country in Vietnam.
He married Heidi Babcock on June 16, 1973 in Hamburg, New York. He was a family man who loved to run. He ran many races in his life, including the Pikes Peak Marathon. He also enjoyed biking and swimming, especially in recent years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Heidi Spellman of Colorado Springs; his daughters, Bri'anna (Steve) Kadera of Colorado Springs, and Mallory (Mike) Lockhart of Colorado Springs; and his two grandchildren. He has two sisters, Linda Woodard of Ocala, Florida and Nancy (Dan) Moellering of Chandler, Arizona.
Most recently, he worked as an Application Developer with Oracle. In New York, he worked for National Fuel Gas Company, as well as the town and village of Hamburg and for Peerless Insurance in New Hampshire. The family moved to Colorado in 1992, where he worked for MCI and Verizon before Oracle.
Memorial Service, 1:00PM, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Stone Chapel at Woodmen Valley Chapel, Rockrimmon Campus, 290 East Woodmen Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80919, with Pastor Kevin Feldotto officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Steve's memory to the Defenders of Wildlife, the Nature Conservancy, or the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
He will be dearly missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Heidi. I didn't know Steve well, but I knew him from running at lunchtime at MCI back in the mid-90s He was a great runner & I recall him saying he had run about 300+ days in a row! I pray for you & your family & may God bless you all & hold you close at this time of sorrow.
