Steven Valentine Obituary

Steven James Valentine, 59, of Paradise Valley, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to James and Diane Valentine, Steve made lifelong friends as a student at Cheyenne Mountain High School and Mesa High. Steve attended Columbia University for his under graduate, before earning his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Pasadena School of Chiropractic in 1984. Steven had a true entrepreneur spirit, starting and owning several successful healthcare companies in the Phoenix area

.

Steven was an incredibly intelligent man, but will be remembered most for his great humor and tremendous courage. Steve's passing fell on the sixth anniversary of his liver transplant. Steve and his family will ever be thankful to Jean Campbell for her live liver donation, and the gift of life, that allowed Steve's family and friends to enjoy the extra time they shared. Steve will be missed for the devoted and funniest father, husband and friend that he was. Steve truly lived and fought so hard to be with his family.

Steve was very proud of his two sons, Jace and Salvatore; and his three daughters, Alexandra, Brittney, and Emma - they were his whole life. He is also survived by his wife Amy, mother Sue Valentine; his sister Sandi, niece Jamie and nephews JD and JR; as well as his many loving aunts, uncles, and other friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Aqel and the transplant team at Mayo Clinic Phoenix for their tireless, compassionate care and friendship to Steven.

A memorial service will be held honoring Steven on Friday, October, 21 at 10:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 6840 East Gold Dust Avenue, Scottsdale, Arizona 85253. Burial will be held at 11:45am at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mayo Foundation for research into the treatment of primary sclerosing cholangitis. Funds may be sesnt directly to Mayo Clinic in a tribute to Steven Valentine: Mayo Clinic Foundation, Attn: Department of Development, 13400 E Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85259.

A brother-in-law, a wonderful Uncle to his nephews and niece, and a blessing to his family and friends, Steve was an extremely intelligent guy, with a terrific mind for business. While his enduring legacy for my family and me will always be his success and that great sense of humor, he was just an incredibly generous man that welcomed everyone to his home. The holidays will never be the same without him. Most of all, we will all miss that great laugh of his.

Only the good die young, Steve. Your love and friendship was a gift you everyone around you, and we will all miss you greatly. God bless...

Steve was a good friend. I am sorry to see his passing from this life. I am sure he is in a better place and not suffering the physical pain he suffer the past year or so. What an awesome guy quick whit, great humor, and extremely intelligent. He will be missed by all that knew him. He really had a soft heart and a will to love and appreciate life.

My deepest condolences go out to you & may the love of friends & family carry you through your grief.
It has been over 50yrs. but I still remember Steve crossing the street to my house in Skyway Park & we would play catch for hours together. We were good friends until one day Mr. & Mrs. Valentine, Steve & Sandi had to move away & I lost a friend & my baseball buddy.
God Bless you all & a special hello to Mrs. Valentine, ( Steve's Mom).
