Stuart McMaster Obituary

Stuart Michael McMaster
Oct. 31, 1956 - Mar. 31, 2014

Stuart Michael McMaster, best friend-husband, proud father, adoring grandfather, loyal brother and awesome care giver to anyone lucky enough to cross paths with him died March 31, 2014 at the age of 57.
Stu died unexpectedly at a hospital near his home in Bremerton, Washington surrounded by friends and family.
Stuart is remembered as caring, loving and strong with a true sense of humor. On his right bicep was a tattoo of the cartoon character Heckle. On the left was Jeckle and a duck with a caption that read “hey you.” He told his mother he told his mother this was so they could talk to each other. She laughed.
Stuart was born in Alameda, Calif. on Halloween 1956. He was raised in El Sobrante, Calif. After graduating from De Anza high school in 1974 with a haircut his brothers said reminded them of Bobby Goldsboro Stuart joined the Army. Stuart spent the bulk of his military time stationed in Germany.
After he was discharged Stu returned stateside with an impressively loud stereo and a crate load of rock albums – Queen, Rolling Stones & Bruce Springsteen – to name a few favorites. He also brought home with him fond memories of Europe and stayed in touch with a handful Army buddy’s.
Stuart settled in the Pacific Northwest a few decades back where he met the love of his life and future wife Kelly Kerr McMaster. You knew the union was true and would last by the way he looked at her and how she spoke of him. Together they created their own utopia where everyone was welcome in their home and anyone who spent time with them left feeling they were Stu & Kelly’s favorite.
Stuart worked as a phlebotomist at the Puget Sound Center where was loved & respected by all.
Stuart leaves behind his wife beautiful wife Kelly and children Jessica, Joshua, Stuart Jr., David and stepson Mike who gracefully tackled the job of keeping family informed during Stu’s hospital stay. “Pa Stu” leaves grandchildren Ajay, Jennalea, Aubree, Hayle and Kennady; brothers Ronald; Charles and George; sisters Renita; Christine; Sherry and Shelly.
Also feeling the sting of Stu’s loss are lots and lots of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Stuart was preceded in death by his mother Geneva LaVars, father Robert McMaster and stepson Tommy Kerr.
Services will be held April 26 at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 811 Veneta Ave. Bremerton, Wash. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Puget Sound Blood Center.

My heart goes out to the family of Stuart. What a wonderful guy he was. I first met Stuart at his grandma Charlotte's house. He always wore a beautiful smile and was so kind, polite and gentle. Stuart will be missed by many, but in my heart I know that God gained another angel and a beautiful one at that.
