Susan "Sue" Yarnold Dilloway died of late-life health issues on May 15th, 2021. She was 81 years old.

Ms. Dilloway was born in London, England to Kenneth W. Yarnold and Eva A. Borhegyi Yarnold. She lived in England until the age 9. She lived in Connecticut until 1998. She graduated from Stamford H.S., earned a B.A. in Government from the College of William and Mary, and an M.S. in Teaching from Fairfield University. She married Phylipp Dilloway in 1962 and lived in Wilton, CT. Ms. Dilloway taught Social Studies at Wilton High School for over 20 years.



In 1998 Susan moved to Colorado Springs, where she enjoyed the sunny climate and the local offerings of civic and cultural activities. She was on the boards of Curiosity Unlimited at UCCS, the Woman's Educational Society, the World Affairs Council, and of her homeowners' association. An active world traveler for much of her adult life, she also took a great interest in helping refugees and others who came to this country for a better future. She spent several years volunteering for Lutheran Family Services' Refugee and Asylee program and in teaching ESL classes for adults in D-11. She also volunteered with Assistance League of Colorado Springs. Two of the groups most important to her were her book clubs in Connecticut and Colorado Springs.



She is survived by her brother Nicholas B. Yarnold of Providence, R.I.; her children, David Dilloway of Park City, UT; Daniel Dilloway of Norwalk, CT; and Christie Dilloway of Park City, UT; as well as grandson Shey Dilloway, of Park City, UT. Also by her cousin John Yarnold of Lymington, England; step sister Carol Yarnold Erickson and step brother Richard Yarnold of California.
