Suzanne Hergott Obituary

Suzanne McCans Hergott went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on Monday, September 8th 2014, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Suzanne was born in Midland, Texas on July 31st, 1960, to Bill E. and Sue Bailey McCans.

Suzanne spent her childhood in southern New Mexico. Suzanne graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1978, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the school choir.

Suzanne continued her education at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM and at Central State College in Edmond, OK.

Suzanne lived in Dallas, Texas until moving to Colorado Springs where she met her beloved husband, Michael Alan Hergott. They were married on September 6th, 1997. On Suzanne's birthday, July 31st, 2002, they were blessed with the birth of their son Christian Michael Hergott.

Suzanne worked for many years in the computer software field, excelling in all her endeavors. Suzanne made many close friends that she held dear to her heart.

Suzanne was always ready for an adventure and enjoyed hiking, snowboarding, scuba diving, took polo lessons and once bungee jumped from a hot air balloon. Suzanne's biggest joy came from sharing her love for food and was always ready to host a feast at the spur of the moment.

Suzanne loved all animals, especially her cat Lily, her puppies Rapunzel, Jethro, Tasha, Maley, Osceloa, and Sacha. She also had a range of other pets from hamsters, fish and birds.

Suzanne was a lover of the arts and music and loved to play the piano and harp and shared this love with her son Christian, who plays the bass guitar and percussions.

Suzanne was an active member of Sacred Heart Church, where she, Mike and Christian served in many of the ministries of the community. Suzanne was compassionate and always willing to help others in need.

Suzanne was a loyal, generous friend and was devoted wife and mother and a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and niece. Suzanne will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Suzanne is survived by her husband Michael A. Hergott; son, Christian Michael Hergott; parents, Sue and Bill McCans of Ft Worth, TX; sister, Joanne Bell of Blairstown NJ; brothers, Bill McCans III of Thomasville, GA; Steven (Stacie) McCans of Ft Worth, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Swan-Law Funeral Director's. The Memorial Mass is planned for 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Ave., Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Dear Lord,

Please forward our letters to my lovely sweet beautiful wife and Christian's mother, who is now in the presence of your glory and delighting you and everyone in heaven with her love, gentle touch and big warm heart. Suzanne was a special servant of yours and her life although short touched so many, so please reach out and comfort them too today, as we all miss her precious soul.

Dear Suzanne,

My dearest sweet Suzanne, I miss you so very much and wish writing this letter was just part of a bad dream. Every day you are on our minds and we wonder what we'd be doing, if you were still here to share in our daily lives. I miss everything about you, especially your beautiful smile that won me over from the very beginning. I miss the way you made us feel special and showed how proud you were when we did well and accomplished goals that we set for ourselves. I miss seeing the reaction you had when we were able to surprise you with cards and flowers on Mother's Day and every holiday and your birthday or just whenever it seemed appropriate. I miss you sharing in the wonders of Christian and making every Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Halloween and Birthday special for him. Nothing was too good for your boys and nothing went unnoticed either. You touched everyone that you met in a special way and they too miss you and wonder how they are to fill the void. Our families especially miss you and hope their love continues to reach you in heaven. We will do the very best that we can and we long for that time when we meet again and we can bring you up to date and see your beautiful smile again.

We will love you always,
Mike (Poopie) and Christian (Sweetpea)

Dear Mom,

I hope that you're doing great in Heaven and that you're having fun with the dogs. I hope you're still watching us. Us is me and dad. I bet that you're still rooting for the Cowboys. IT WAS A CATCH! Sacha is doing great. I'm playing football and doing good. Dad is doing great. I hope you like Ruidoso. We may think of it as the anniversary of your death but we should think of it as the anniversary of when you entered Heaven. Make sure that you're having the best time up there. Take Osce on all his walks, and let Malley swim in some lake, and get Tasha her chocolate, and let Jethro tag along. Well, I love you more. Yes I do. No, I love you more.

Love
Christian

Dear Lord,

Please forward my poem to my lovely sweet beautiful wife

A Beautiful Smile

The absolute most, beautiful, lovely and prefect smile I have ever seen. In a world so big, can there be more than one and if not, what can it mean? Why me Lord, how did I come across it and is it for real? In a day of computer generations, alterations and just things made for look and for feel.

My heart has been broken and my place in this world is no longer known. I have much healing before I can move on or go back home. With the love of so many and family throughout the day, my son and I will heal and praise the Lord for he alone is the way. It is not easy and will not be hurried, but for those who love us you must not be worried. The Lord has taken us into his arms and walked while carrying us through our pain and reassured us, in heaven we'll meet again. Our heart remains broken, but heals day by day as we pray and ask the Lord for that which will help us on our way. It is true the Lord himself will keep his promise and show us the way to fulfill his plan. It's not written on paper, on stone or in the sand, but spoken personally to each women, child or man. Each day has been a little easier or a little less hard for us both. For I now know our strength has been partially from those who have passed, with the help of the Lord and Holy Ghost.

Today, we feel good and able to live as God and our loved ones had hoped and we are no longer mostly sad. We smile each morning, while giving thanks and praise for all that we have. Now it is time to live the life that God has made for us and we also desire. Our love for life and all that is in it has ignited a glorious fire. Can it be that after all this while I could still recall the absolute most, beautiful, lovely and perfect smile?

Dear Lord,
Please forward the following to my lovely wife Suzanne of 18 years.
My Dear Poopie,
Happy Anniversary, I cherish every moment that we shared together and will remember them fondly until I see your beautiful smile again in heaven. Time has taught me that, no matter what, we will always be together and my love for you will never fade. You are with us every day and we hope you continue to be proud of your boys.
Love, Poopie

I was blessed to have had Suzanne in my life, even for a brief moment. She was funny and kind. She lit up a room when she walked in. She made me smile. I Pray for Michael and Christian, that the Lord fills their hearts with the loving memories that I am sure Suzanne brought to them. Thank you Lord for sharing Suzanne with us. - Armando Navarro

Suz is gone but will never be forgotten. She was loved by so many and will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her and she loved. I loved her smile and the joy she showed when spending time with family. She loved being a wife and mother! Christian was such a joy to her and she loved watching him grow and learn. When Suz joined our family she fit right in and was a loved addition to the Hergott clan! The time our family shared at Mike and Suzanne's wedding are some of our most precious family memories. Love you forever Suz!

Suz is greatly missed. She was full of life. I remember when Mike proposed to her, us kids at the time, all knew it was going to happen that day on the mountain out skiing. We were so excited when they meet back up with us and she had said yes. Not a day goes by that I don't stop and think about what a wonderful person Suz is and how much we all miss her. I used the story about her buying popcorn for a homeless person today in class and how the homeless person threw the popcorn all over, and she just said something like well I was meant to feed the birds today.

December 12, 2014

Mike,Christian so glad we got to know what a wonderful person Suz was and we loved her very much. She always made us smile. You couldnt of found a better person for you Mike and Christian so glad she got to be in our family. We will remember her forever. We all will miss her very much and her and Karl are in heaven together probably talking about the rest of us.

Mike and Christian -
Suz would light up a room, always a beaming smile. She was such a loving, caring person. She was so, very, concerned about everyone - they came first. It was always about the other person – how was your weekend meant more that a simple greeting.
Birthday's were a special treat around the office, Suz went all out getting the best cakes in the entire city – she went to great lengths to make it special. Major birthdays were over the top as well – with extravagant decorations.
Her meetings were also special, no one was late for Suzanne's meetings– she had the “Candy Bowl” – again the BEST was her style.
Another memory of Suz's over the top delivery was a golf outing when most folks have a beer or 2 – Suz had a complete assortment of martinis, including a chocolate, dessert, variety.
Suz was so special and caring in every way!
Blessings to you both - until you reunite with her in eternity.

Our Suzanne, beautiful inside and out. She gave with her heart and always had a smile to give. Her path took her too early, but she left a beautiful indelible mark on our lives that we take forward. We love her and miss her. Thankful and blessed to be in her life and yours, we grieve with you and are here when you need us. Love and Prayers,

Dear Sue, Family, and especially Christian,

May I say, that although I did not know your exceptional daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, or friend personally, I feel somehow deeply connected to her. Suzanne's life force was powerful, so powerful that it can be seen and felt throughout the photos you've shared on-line. I've looked through all the 241 photos and the one thing that is "core or central" throughout every photo is that Suzanne has her arms around everyone she loved, admired, or cherished. Her love was strong and palpable and will never fade. I miss not getting to meet her and I miss not getting to feel her arms around me. In honor of Ms. Suzanne McCans Hergott I have planted a Lavender Cotton plant at Bedford Heights Elementary School. Like Suzanne it is strong, resilient, and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your lovely photos . . . xxoo Kelley
