Suzanne Simpson Obituary

Suzanne (Suzy) Joy Simpson passed away on the morning of Wednesday, March 16, 2011 after a three year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Ronald Simpson and her son Bradford Simpson of Colorado Springs. Her mother, Helen Hardman lives in Creston, Iowa and her brother, Jim Hardman, lives in Ft. Myers, Florida. Suzy was born in Creston, Iowa on May 26, 1947 where she spent all of her early life; graduating from Creston High School in 1965 and married Ron Simpson, her high school sweetheart, on August 3, 1968. She and Ron spent their early years in Ames, Iowa while Ron finished school at Iowa State University. In 1972, Suzy and Ron relocated to Pueblo, Colorado and that is where she brought her son, Brad Simpson, into the world on January 31, 1975. In 1978, the family moved to Colorado Springs and, except for a year and a half in San Diego, this is where she called “home. She worked for several different organizations; most of her career was spent at Current, Inc. and California Casualty Insurance. To everyone that knew her, Suzy was the essence of kindness and humility. She always had a ready smile and an instant sense of humor. Suzy was a very caring and loving wife and mother who enjoyed all aspects of family life. Volunteering at local elementary schools was important to her as was sharing experiences with her family and friends. Suzy loved to travel and experience Colorado's many wonders. Suzy will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her. Suzanne was an exceptional wife, mother, relative, and friend. There will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family at the Castle of Glen Eyrie on Wednesday, March 23rd between 2:30 and 5:00 pm (business casual attire). Call for more information. Ron & Brad: You are in my thoughts and prayers. I was so lucky to have Suzy in my life for over 50 years and she will always have a very special place in my heart. We shared so many wonderful times together during middle school and high school. I will cherish them forever. I'm so glad she was able to come back for our class reunion this past summer. We spent every waking moment together and I am so thankful for those memories as well. She was a wonderful, loving friend who was determined to beat this disease and she gave it a good fight. God bless her courage and a special thanks to you for surrounding her with your love all these years and especially these past few years when she needed your support. You meant the world to her. Love, Sue Ellen

Suzanne was the "Best Sister" that a brother could ask for. Always understanding, uplifting, and full of humor. She was truly one of my best friends and always very unselfish. I only wish I had spent more time with her throughout the years. I remember our last pitcher of Margaritas and how much fun we had together with Mom and friends. I will truly miss her and know that she is in a better place together with Dad awaiting the New Kingdom. Thank you Suzy, I will miss you! God Bless!!!

"A special thanks to Ron and Brad for the special love and care they showed toward Suzy throughout her illness. My Mother and my Family truly appreciate it.
