Services for Ted Floyd Ruybalid and Linda Joyce Monks-Ruybalid will take place July 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. at San Rafael Presbyterian Church, Antonito, CO. Ashes will be interred in Mogote Cemetery. Ted died Oct. 23, 2024. Linda, known as "Lynn," died June 14, 2024. Ted and Lynn were married 42 years.
They lived in Tucson, AZ and formerly lived in Colorado Springs. Ted, a.k.a. "Teddy Boy Floyd," sang and played guitar, regularly at Poor Richard's on Tejon St., the Townhouse in Manitou, and in bands Teddy & the Nightbeats, Crash Murphy and others. He was also an accomplished Fine Arts painter.
Lynn was an actress and talent agent. She performed many years at Iron Springs Chateau and worked at Van Noy Talent. She and Ted sang in the combo "Hurricane Floyd." Her acting included a critically acclaimed performance as Blanche DuBois in a University of Colorado production "A Streetcar Named Desire."
Ted was born in Alamosa, CO in 1947. He earned a BA from Southwestern University, Okla. From 2002-2018 he taught music at Tucson High School. He is survived by son Bryan Ruybalid, grandson Alex Burton; brother Frank (Sarah) Ruybalid; a nephew, Nick, and a niece, Sally.
Lynn was born in 1950 in Talihina, OK. She earned a BA in Drama from University of Oklahoma, and Master of Fine Arts from University of Arizona.
Lynn is survived by sisters Carolyn (Dan) Pataconi and Vicki Monks; a niece, Allixandra, a nephew, Justin (Jessica); a grandniece and grandnephew.
