Ted Smith Obituary

Ted Hebel Smith, 86, passed away March 21, 2017 from complications of Alzheimer's. He was born in Hutchinson KS July 6, 1930 and moved to Colorado Springs in 1963. He proudly served in the Marine Corp 1950-1953 at Parris Island, SC. While home on leave he met Berna (Bernie) Murray and they were married December 19, 1955.

After getting out of the Marines he served an apprenticeship as a Bricklayer and traveled the US working for the next 10 years. Once in Colorado he was a member of Bricklayer's Local #4 for more than 50 years. Ted loved his family, especially the grandkids, camping, hiking, being in the mountains, woodworking, photography and telling stories. He never met a stranger and was always smiling.

Ted is survived by his wife Bernie, daughter Janet, son Ted Allen, grandkids Krystle, Sarah, Amy, Emily, Mollie, Ted Joseph, Celia, Avery, 9 great-grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Ted William and Ethel Hebel Smith and sister Abby Murray.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, March 25th at Circle Drive Baptist Church with reception following.

I am very sorry for your loss. May the comforting words at Job 33:24,25 be of some help at this time.

Boppy was the greatest great gradpa I would ever want. What it said about the smiling is SO true!
