Tedra Becker Obituary

Tedra Ann Becker died on Friday November 6th, after a 5-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born March 17, 1939 in Miami, Oklahoma to Theodore and Verdene La Falier. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her half-brother, Donald La Falier. Tedra graduated from high school in 1957. She moved to Colorado Springs and met Joseph Henry Becker, Jr. They were married on December 21, 1958. Their son, Larry Joe, was born in December of 1959. After arriving in Colorado Springs in 1957, Tedra worked briefly in the photo shop at Pikes Peak Summit as a photographer taking pictures of tourists. After Larry Joe's arrival, she was a stay-at-home mom. She took care of her son and also found time to sell Tupperware out of her home. When Larry was nine years old, Tedra entered the workforce where she was to remain for the next twenty years. She first worked for Hewlit-Packard, as an equipment assembler. Later, she worked for about ten years for Litton Industries. At Litton, she was a high-tech assembler, working primarily on electronic collars for the control of military aircraft. She was commended many times for her contributions to increasing production efficiency. Tedra was also often called upon to lead equipment rebuilding efforts at Litton. Tedra was a person who loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She often said "the greatest gift we have is the gift of life." She was a survivor who carried on a courageous battle with illness during the final years of her life. Tedra was extremely intelligent and intuitively artistic. She and Joe have been involved in car shows, crafts, home decorations, and an endless litany of social activities. Throughout the years, she was always organizing family holiday celebrations. Halloween was always her favorite holiday with her colorful costumes and wonderful things to eat. Tedra was extremely proud of her immediate family - her husband, Joe, her son Larry Joe, and her daughter-in-law Anna. She and Joe have two grandsons, Brandon and brady and three great grandchildren, Isabella, Jaiden and Aubreanna. They will miss her deeply. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, at 11:30 A< at Rocky Mountain Cavalry Chapel, 4285 N. Academy Blvd.
