Terry Ours Obituary

A life well lived, Terry is best remembered for his honorable service to his country, quirky sense of humor, interests in the supernatural, and dedication to those he truly loved including his four legged family members.

Terry was born in Moorefield, West Virginia, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, and participating in the music of his Cleaver uncles. At 18 he joined the Army where 10 of his 20 years were in Germany driving tanks and humvees, volkesmarching and attending beer festivals. While stationed in Hohensfels, he met the love of his life, Susan. Upon returning from the Persian Gulf War, Terry and Susan relocated to Colorado Springs where Ann Marie was born just before Terry's retirement from the Army. Two years later, Robert joined the family. Terry did double duty as a stay home dad and finishing his two degrees from Colorado Technical University. Working as a General Dynamics contractor, Terry traveled to many states and in Kuwait/Iraq. His last five years, was spent taking special care of his family, walking his dogs and enjoying Happy hours at various locations.

Terry is survived by his wife, Susan, children Ann Marie (19) and Robert (17); mother, Mabel Cleaver Ours; sisters Linda, Nancy, and Donna; dearly loved nephew Bill and his family; his uncles Karl (Poss) and John, their families and other Cleaver family members.

Rather than Terry's preference of having his body placed in his beloved Barstow desert for coyotes, his life will be celebrated on Tuesday, 3:30 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Hwy 85/87, followed by at small reception at Dove Witt.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Disabled American Veterans, the Humane Society or St. Dominic Catholic Church, Security.

Terry will forever be loved and remembered as 24

Mrs. Ours, Anne Marie, Robert -
You are in our hearts and prayers. We haven't seen each other in a long while, but if there is anything we can do to help during this time, please let us know...we're just around the corner.
Mr. Ours -
Your passing shocked and saddened us. We don't always understand why God suddenly calls home one of His own, but keeping in mind He knows best, we are comforted by the thought that Mrs. Ours, Anne Marie, and Robert now have another angel to watch over and pray for them. God bless and keep you, Mr. Ours.
Blessings,
The Veres Family

I remember Terry as a shy, quiet, cute, honery little boy, usually tearing up the neighborhood on his bike. While I haven't seen him years, I've been able to keep up with him through his sister Linda. I've always been very proud of his accomplishments through the years and am so sorry to hear of his passing. May God be with you through this terrible time. Fran Davidson Stickley

Dear Susan and family,
I met you at our last family reunion and it was a delight to sit with Terry and with you and talk. He was a very special individual who, once he started his Army career and married you, truly became happy. He is now with Grandma (my gr grandma Cleaver) who he lived with while growing up and she loved him so much. I am sending prayers and hugs to comfort you and the family.
