Thayer Scott Thomas, a native of Colorado Springs, passed away June 2, 2022, at 68 years of age. He was the first son born to Barbara and Rowan Thomas, long-time Colorado Springs residents.
He was a professional real estate broker and graduate of the University of Colorado. Thayer always enjoyed fishing the streams and rivers of Colorado, was a great storyteller, and was a top-notch rock and roll guitarist. He also was a friend to all animals, and could frequently be found feeding stray cats in his neighborhood. He also shared an interest with his dad in rocks, mineral and crystal specimens. Skiing was one of his favorites, and he began with lessons at the old Ski Broadmoor in the late 60's.
He is survived by his brother, David Thomas, of Colorado Springs and Judy Beckenholdt, a forever friend, also of Colorado Springs. Donations may be made in his name to the Humane Society of Colorado Springs.
A memorial service is planned for July 7, to be held at 11:00 AM at East United Methodist Church, at 1505 East Monument Street in Colorado Springs.
