Theodore Crowley Obituary

Theodore Miller Crowley, 98, went home to the Lord on April 7, 2010 in Bloomington, Illinois. He was born on February 11, 1912 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to William Denis Crowley and Lucy Miller Crowley. Ted married Gwendolyn N. Doran on August 31, 1940 in Duluth, Minnesota and they enjoyed life together for 54 years until Gwen's death in 1994. He was a veteran of World War II and moved to Colorado Springs in 1958. Ted was a long time parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He retired from Civil Service as a Civil Engineering Technician (draftsman) from the United States Air Force Academy after 20 years. Preceding Ted in death were his wife Gwen, his son Timothy Richard Crowley, his brother Timothy William Crowley, and his sister Florence Newman. Ted is survived by his children Joseph Patrick Crowley (Judy), James Anthony Crowley, and Mary Dolores Weigel (John); his grandchildren Marcia Dawn Crowley, Christopher Wade Crowley (Kelly), and Timothy John Weigel (Alisa); and his great-grandchildren Sean Crowley, Patrick Crowley, Matthew Weigel, Julia Weigel, Andrew Weigel III, Isabella Weigel, and Sophia Weigel. There will be a private family visitation at Blunt Mortuary. A public memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Avenue on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Gwen and Ted Crowley Fund at Illinois State University to support faculty and student research in visual arts; address to The Office of University Advancement, Illinois State University, Campus Box 3200, Normal, IL 61790-3200.
