On December 13th, 2023, Theodore Edwin Decker, died peacefully at home at the age of 83, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born on May 3rd, 1940, to Frank and Adeline Decker, "Ted" lived his early years in Kansas City, MO. The family later relocated to Denver, CO, where Ted graduated from East Highschool and excelled in sports, earning the title "State Champion Gymnast". He graduated from Colorado State University where he met the love of his life, Carlene Borgeson, whom he married in 1962.

He valued hard work and a job "well-done" which paved the path for a highly successful career with IBM, where he earned many achievement awards, including being a member of the 100% Club, 24 of 25 years. His love of skiing also led to his partnership in Total Tennis and Ski.

As a long-time resident of Colorado Springs since 1965, Ted was an active member of many community organizations and clubs including, the Boy's Club, Broadmoor Ski Club, Colorado Springs Raquet Club, Kissing Camels Men's Golf Association, and Garden of the Gods Club, to name a few. Ted also enjoyed hiking, biking, water skiing, golf, tennis and pickleball and was an avid skier and exceptional sailor who spent much of his time in Summit County enjoying the Colorado Rockies.

A man of impeccable integrity, honor, and work ethic, Ted was highly respected by all whose lives he so deeply impacted. Most importantly, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carlene Decker; daughter, Lisa Decker (Joe Frasca), and son, Christopher Decker; grandchildren, Kelsey Currier, Collin (Kylee) Currier, Taelyr Romero, and Dylan Decker; great-grandchildren, Kambree, Covelyn, and Kincaid Currier; siblings, Sharon (Douglas) Clifford, and Joseph (Kathie) Decker; and, many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Ted's Life will be hosted at Three Graces Ballroom at Garden of the Gods Club, 3314 Mesa Road, Colorado Springs, CO, December 21, 2023, at 3:00 o'clock.

Carlene, I only now found out about Teds passing. I,m so sorry for you and your family. When I met him you could tell what a nice guy he was. To the entire Decker family, I'm sorry to hear of Ted's passing. I grew up with his children Lisa and Chris and was a neighbor down the street. Many thanks to him and Carlene for introducing my parents Don and Cornelia to the Colo. Spgs. Raquet club. which ended up being a huge part of our lives! Ted was always so nice. I remember him working in his front yard which he took pride and joy in along with his bike rides through our neighborhood! Sending hugs and strength to the entire family during this difficult time. Ted was an active, admired, and vital part of our Pickleball community at he Garden of the Gods Club. Somehow in the last year, the group learned of Ted's actual age and none of us could believe he could play as well as he did! We will all remember him as a thoughtful, witty, and competitve member of the group. We will sorely miss him and we are all better for having known him. We extend gratitude to his family for having shared him with us.
