Tom was the eldest of 3 sons born to Carrol and Marguarite (Thomas) Armstong in Ponca, NE. He spent his youth on the family farm and graduated from Ponca high school. He spent 6 years in the Army and reserves. After the service Tom resided in Illinois and was a master auto mechanic. In 1992 he moved to C/S and went into business with his Brothers owning and operating the Academy Riding Stables. Tom retired in 2008 and spent his last years advising at the stables and puttering around the garage, fixing and building things.
Tom was known for his great sense of humor and loved having a good time with his friends. Tom loved animals, especially his dogs (Dog and Sadie), and his horse Sox. He will be greatly missed, but we were blessed with the time we had and the many memories he has left us with.
Tom is survived by his wife, Trudy (26 years), his brother, George
(Genevieve) Armstrong, his daughter, Rebecca (Lawrence) Wolf, his sons, Steven (Cindy) Armstrong and Douglas (Pam) Armstrong, step-daughter Tracy (Kevin) Williams, step-son, Jon (Julia) Wildenradt, 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bruce Armstrong.
Cremation has been handled by Blunt Mortuary and per Tom's request, no formal service will be held, he wanted only a celebration of life for family, which will be planned early next year.
