To the Godbey Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. "Mr. Godbey" as he was known to my sisters, and I lived next door to us on Kellar Lane in Decatur IL. We moved away when I was in 8th grade, but all of my childhood memories of our house there are peppered with him. He always let us ride our bikes in his driveway, take pulls on the slot machine in his garage, play on his front porch, and he took bike rides with us almost every night. And, at our request, would toot the special horn he had on his car every time he came home if we were outside. He was such a kind, loving man. I'm sure my sisters and I were sometimes a little much to take, but he never shooed us away or asked us to leave. He was and still is one of the nicest, kindest people I have ever known.

Melissa, Your family will be in my prayers. I thought your dad was a very nice man and a wonderful father when I met him years ago. God bless you all. An old friend from EIU, Rita (Chapman) Hagenbruch
