I am so sorry for the loss of Uncle
Tom. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to share, and let's not forget the candy. I'm sure that the entire dental community is especially sad to hear the news of his passing. He will always be remembered.

I am sad to hear of Tommy's passing. I will never forget him at the little league field and especially appreciated that he made the bored little sisters feel special too when they had to hang out there with brothers and parents. I doubt that any kid left the fields without at least one piece of candy from that bottomless pocket. He was one of a kind and that so many others feel that way does not surprise me. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

As a young girl, I remember being around Mr. Hildegrand by being Eric's classmate . I remember his gentleness, his true interest in all of us, and most of all what I wanted to be like when I was a parent one day. He was a strong individual that was truly himself and lived to be a inspiring individual. I hope I take away from him just a little of his awesome being and pass it to my children and their classmates as he did to us. You'll be missed.

My Sympathy ...

The loss of someone dear
is poignant as can be
and all that I can offer
is friendly sympathy ...

But my condolences really come
directly from the heart
as I know how sad it is
when loved ones have to part ...

I know you will be lonely
as the days and nights go by
and there will be a million tears
you will need to cry ...

And so I grieve with you today
and say a fervent prayer
that God will keep and bless
dear Mr. H in His care.

Adalyn, Eric and Family,
You are in our prayers duirng this time of loss and sadness. Tom was such a great man. My best childhood memories are of vacationing in Springs and going out to eat at Fargo's. Tom and Adalyn even took me to Fargo's when I was on a college mission trip to Colorado Springs in 1995. Tom gave me a $2.00 that day to add to my collection.
Tom made everyone feel special and his energetic personality was contagious. I pray you find comfort in the memories and the many lives Tom touched.

We have such fond memories of Mr. H and Doherty baseball. He was such a caring man and great mentor to the players; always encouraging them to do their best both on the field and in the classroom. His years and years of dedication will not be forgotten. Daniel will always cherish his $2.00 bills! Our deepest sympathies to Mrs. H and family. John, Janie and Daniel Gerding

Dear Mrs H and Eric, thanks for sharing Mr H with us for so many years! It was his inspiration that made Doherty baseball a family, and his cheerful good-natured attitude brought out the best in everyone. One of my favorite memories is from 2004, the JV team had just won the Metro League title and the players dove into a big heap to celebrate-- with Mr H in there with them! There is a spot in my heart for him always. With love,

What a lesson we can all learn as we strive to make everyone we encounter special. Adalyn and Eric, we pray for peace and strength for you in these coming weeks! We were all blessed to know him! Dear Hildebrand Family-

Many of my fondest memories of Doherty High School have Mr. Hildebrand in them. Watching him ‘work the room' at a sporting event with pockets full of candy – made me smile. While sitting in your family room just talking or watching TV- Mr. Hildebrand made everyone feel accepted, welcome and special. I honestly don't know anyone else like him. He was so comfortable in his own skin, that he naturally made others feel the same. He was a bright light wherever he went and I feel grateful to have known him. Earth's loss is heaven's gain. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Tom's service to his country(For those that unaware of this--he served during WW2 under General Patton) and his love for family, friends and Doherty high school, was an inspiration to all of us. My prayers and thoughts will be with the Hildebrands as we mourn the passing of a great Patriot, loving husband and wonderful father. I will miss him.

I am truly saddened by the loss of such a great man. However, I would also like to say that I was very blessed to have had the experience of having such a great role model growing up . Having "Mr. H" as my coach on several little league teams, and then all through my Doherty High School days as well, was a gift that I did not desreve, but was lucky enough to be a part of. Thank you "Mr. H" !

My deepest and most sincere condolences go to Mrs. Hildebrand and Eric and the rest of the Hildebrand family. Mr. Hildebrand was so very kind to me and gave me some of my most cherished memories from High School. I am not sure I had a bigger supporter for my baseball career than Mr. Hildebrand. I was blessed to have known his kindness, consideration, support, generosity. It was so very appropriate to name the Doherty baseball field in honor of Mr. H. His memory will live in the hearts of a great many people. It was my honor to have known such a terrific person. Mr. H was loved by many people and will be greatly missed but we can rejoice that he is with the Lord today, watching down over us and anticipating another Doherty baseball season. God bless you Mr. H and thank you for sharing yourself to me. I will miss you.
