Thomas Allen Kittle
May 1, 1932 - January 2, 2018
On January 2, 2018, at 85 years old, Thomas Allen Kittle, of Woodland Park, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord. Tom was born on May 1, 1932 in Lebanon, Kentucky to the parents of James and Carrie Kittle.
Tom served in the U.S. Navy, where he met and married Shirley Robinson on June 16, 1951. Shirley was his best friend and the love of his life. After serving in the military, Tom earned his electronics degree at San Diego State University and began his 35-year career with IBM. Throughout life, Tom was an active leader in his church as a deacon, in choir and lay preacher. Tom also served as a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Dept., Captain of the Boulder County Sheriff's Reserve, was a volunteer with the Woodland Park Police, and as a Bailiff in Teller County Teen Court. Tom headed up the Woodland Park school's crossing guard program and provided security for school. He was lovingly known as "Mr. Skittles" by the kids.
Tom is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years who passed away on January 1, 2008. He is survived by their four children: Thomas Kittle, David Kittle, Cheryl Tolson, and Lora Ehrichs, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held at High View Baptist Church on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 1 p.m.
