Dr. Thomas Bartlett McCord

Thomas Bartlett McCord, 91, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2022 in Colorado Springs.
He was born August 11, 1930 to Lt. Col. James Alfred McCord, Jr. and Martha Menees McCord in Cedar Hill, Tennessee.
Thomas graduated from Cedar Hill High School. He went on to earn a degree in Education and later a master's in education from the University of Tennessee, and a Doctor of Education from the University of Denver.
He served as an Army Aviator for four years with a tour in Germany.
Thomas worked as an educator, coach, athletic director, and administrator for Cheyenne Mountain School District as well as an administrator at Air Academy School District. He was past president and longtime member of the Broadmoor Rotary Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Betty Bates McCord; sons, Andrew (Becky), Thomas, and James (Kristin) McCord; daughter, Deborah (Charles) Poskie; grandchildren, Trevor and Daniel McCord, Layne and Ella Poskie.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Broadmoor Community Church, 315 Lake Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906. The service is being held outside in the Glen.
Memorial contributions in Thomas' memory may be made to the Rotary Foundation through the Broadmoor Rotary Club.

As a young boy we won a city football championship with him and Eldon . As a young man we won a city baseball championship with him . My thoughts are with his family .
