Thomas Anthony Tassia passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Tom was born and grew up in York, Pennsylvania. He joined his father, aunts, uncles and cousins working in the family business selling fresh fruit and vegetables. He attended the University of Dayton, Ohio with a degree in electrical technology.
Tom met his wife, the love of his life, at a catholic dance in Dayton, Ohio. Tom was hired by Sandia Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended the University of Albuquerque and received a degree in mathematics and physics. Tom's next job was Lawrence Livermore Laboratory in Livermore, California. He retired working at ITT in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Tom liked playing sports, His favorites were basketball, tennis, and softball. Tom loved his retirement jobs which included Real Estate, Cog Railway, Sky Sox Stadium, USAFA Athletic events, and the Colorado Springs Streetcar Museum. Tom loved to dance and was part of the Broadmoor Waltz Club and various square dance clubs. Tom was a major Lionel train hobbyist. Tom loved fishing with his two sons.
He is survived by his wife, Rita; his two sons, James and Brian; his two sisters, Rosemary and Dolores; and his grandchildren, Amanda and Zack.
Tom is preceded by his parents, and brother Joseph Tassia.
