Timothy Evans Obituary

TIMOTHY MICHAEL EVANS
Feb 5, 1955 - Aug 21, 2020
Timothy Michael Evans, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Aug 21, 2020. He was born Feb 5, 1955 in Chicago, the son of William and Jeanne (Zinkann) Evans.
After graduating from Elk Grove High School, Tim married the love of his life and childhood sweetheart, Anne O'Shaughnessy. He began his career as a firefighter in Hoffman Estates, IL. Tim spent the next 22 years on the Schaumburg Fire Department, retiring as Deputy Fire Chief at the age of 41. He then answered the call into full-time ministry, moving from Illinois to Lakeland Church in Holland, Michigan. The next step of his journey brought him to Pasadena, California, where Tim & Anne were deans of The Call School of Ministry. They ultimately landed in Colorado Springs where they pursued their lifelong passion of co-leadership in marriage by creating Real Life Ministries. Countless individuals and couples were impacted by their teaching and writing.
Tim's greatest passions in life were his relationship with God, his marriage and his family.
He left behind his beloved bride, Anne, and four children Timothy Evans Jr. of Colorado Springs, Amy (Curt) DeBoer of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Colleen (John) Stickl of Flower Mound, Texas and Cate (Darren) Baze of Colorado Springs as well as grandchildren Joel, Grace & Jack DeBoer, Trey & Emma Stickl, and Jay Baze.
Tim is survived by siblings Kathy (Pat) Halloran, William (Dawn) Evans, Daniel (Jane) Evans, and Jay (Diane) Evans; siblings-in-law Patricia (Mike) McAleer, John (Caryl) O'Shaughnessy and Colleen Warszewik; and 31 nieces and nephews.
Tim was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. It is hard to believe that someone so full of life is no longer with us. His loss is and will continue to be felt deeply by so many.
A private family service will be followed by a celebration of life at a later date due to COVID restrictions. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Real Life Ministries at www.timplusanne.com. Memorial website: https://tinyurl.com/y53zgu35

Hey Evans family - We are sure that during this last year there were times that it felt as though time was standing still and at other times like it was flying by. Through it all, hopefully you felt the strong arms of Jesus, the warm hugs of friends and the whispered prayers of those who love you.

Recently I came across some pictures of a baptism at Camp Paradise, and I recall how one summer. in the spur of the moment, Tim stepped in to lead several days at CP and baptized some Jr. High students. He was the perfect guy to do so. Later that summer / early fall, we enjoyed a beautiful dinner with you Ann and your man...truly a special moment.

Oh Ann, Reg and I were both so saddened to hear about Tim's passing. I just heard Thursday night talking to Pat. There is nothing I can say to make you and your family feel better but am praying for you to find the strength to go on. Thank God you had over 44 wonderful years together and such a great family. Anne you were one of my favorite people back in the day and I was so happy for you when you married Tim. Please take care!

Oh Anne and family, we were stunned to hear the news of Tim’s “glory” day. We are so thankful for your ministry to us, our children and a nephew and his wife! God spoke through you and taught so many to seek His word for answers..what a legacy! Once we were at a retreat of sorts in Michigan and words you spoke have never left us regarding decisions and both of us needing the “green light” in making decisions. Thank you both; it has served us well. Though our hearts are breaking for you we rejoice in what the psalmist wrote in Psalm 116:15 - “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”
Much ❤,

Anne,
I just saw this. There are no adequate words. I miss my friend. Tim was always delight in my life. May the LORD give you peace, comfort & strength at this time of great loss. We love you. I must tell you that I can't get this vision of Tim smiling & laughing in Heaven. It will be such a joy when we
reunite.

Where to start? First of all, my heart sunk upon getting the news of Tim passing, and I sit here unable to let it sink in and finding it difficult to come up with words. Although i have not seen Tim and Ann for many years, they made a profound impact on my life that remains active today, more than 25 years later. I know some descriptive words wil be repeated by those who contribute to this Guest Book because there are not enought words to pin on Tim Evans. - I'll just stick with two words-"crazy" followed very closely to "godly". Quite a combination, but one that lived nicely in this man. He could have you laughing then would slap you with a profound life lesson. Tim's years as one of the many totally committed volunteer leaders in Sonlight Express, the WIllow Creek Junior High ministry, were highlight years for 1000s of kids and 100s of leaders. He was a leader of leaders and future leaders. Even more he (and Ann) were wonderul faithtul friends to my wife and me. Thank you Tim and Ann Evans for hearts and lives totally devoted to Christ, His causes and His Kingdom. See you again...
