Aunt Tiva has always had a special place in my heart. I have often heard that tuff love is always the best love and think often of my aunt. I also have been accused of offering tuff love but can only hope that I to can be as wonderful as my aunt was. I will miss her but can only envy her that she is home and happy.

We all walk our own road in this life
Some leave a deeper print than others
The measure of ones life is in the ones we help to make their way in life
You have touched many people and will leave a trail that will be rememberd

Aunt Tiva: My fondest memories with you and Uncle Joe are when we visited and you were making homemade pizza's while us kids were running up and down the stairs and you and mom telling us to stop and behave. You will be missed and we will see you in Heavan. Love Shelley & Reuben Herrera

My memories are very special to me, growing up I remeber your homemade pizza's, and running up and down the stairs from the front door up to the kitchen down. Also all of your childrens weddings that we were able to attend and family reunions. We will always love you and remember you with lots of love. GOD BLESS YOU IN HEAVEN

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Tiva was a lady to be reckoned with as a mother, wife, grandmother and mother in-law. She was a fierce gaurdian of her children and of her faith and instilled in all who knew her a respect of that strength. She could be loving and kind, stern and reproachful but always gave you something special to ponder and think about especially in regards to honoring family. Sometimes she was about tough love and any of her children or those close to her knew what this could mean but she had a heart for Christ and wanted her children to share that walk and to be happy and have a life that honored God and their families.
Tiva welcomed me into her family through some difficult circumstances when I married her eldest son Joe with an understanding that I so greatly admired and appreciated. She loved her children and wanted them happy and strove in ways that sometimes were not understood to show her family how to be the best we could be with God's help. Her belief in her Lord and her purpose and destiny here was evident to the end when she wanted all of her loved ones to come and share in that love even those who had struggled with relationships. I feel priviledged to have known her and most of all shared a life with her son Joseph who was one of her greatest gifts to me.
Mom often spoke to me of her blessings and of her sufferings and I know she is now in the throne room of Christ sharing that love and joy that only His light brings. She wanted so much for all of her family and those that joined the family to have that peace of purpose in knowing we were created in God's image for his glorification. I pray for that clear knowledge and understanding for each of us.
She shared one verse with me that always made me think of her though many others may have been her favorite. This verse shared early in my marriage always stayed with me.
"We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Romans 5:3-5 NIV
We will all miss you and that strong faith that you had. Hopefully that faith is alive in all of us and honors your memory as we live the life that only God's grace has given us. It is to this memory and to the joyful homecoming that will be shared for her and so many loved ones gone before and to come that I share this life verse she gave to me.
In the shared love of Christ,
Mina
