Tom Milne was a Pueblo native and graduate of Pueblo Centennial High School. Tom served in the Navy at the end of WWII in 1946. He severed a second term for the Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952 and was in the reserves until 1957. Tom and Betty Jean were married Dec 13, 1953. Between the times he served in the Armed Forces, Tom worked for the family meat cutting business. After returning from service in the Army, Tom and his best friend, Bob Mooney, took over the business from Tom's retiring father, William Milne, and started Milne-Mooney Wholesale Foods. He later opened TenderBest Meat CO., which took him well into his 40's. Tom sold Tomichi Village restaurant and became regional top salesman for Shamrock Food Company. Tom retired, completed the Honey-Do list then became a butcher for Walmart in Pueblo until he was 75 years young. Tom was well known in meat cutting skills and gourmet cooking, always willing to share his vast knowledge on food preparation. His favorite time was to cook for large groups during the holidays. He was a member of the American Legion, Independent order of the Odd Fellows, Masons and Shriners International. Tom was a life-long active member in the Republican Party. He was loved and will be greatly missed. His memorial service will be in July 2013, details on date and time to be announced later. Arrangements through Mountain View Mortuary, Colorado Springs.
