Tony Byczynski Obituary

Tony Byczynski, 55, of Colorado Springs passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 24, 2007. Tony was born in Anaheim, CA on March 10, 1951. He grew up in Oshkosh, WI, raised by his great parents, Eileen and Lee. He had two brothers, Michael and Marc. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Marc. Brother Mike still resided in Oshkosh, WI. Tony shared his life with his one love, Fran (Geier) Byczynski, for 35 years. Tony and Fran moved from Wisconsin to Colorado Springs two weeks after visiting Colorado on vacation in September of 1972. Colorado Springs has been their true home since then, but they both enjoyed exploring the entire West during Tony's time employed in the oil fields of Montana, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona. Later, Tony and Fran also spent a couple years employed as a team of over-the-road truck drivers and were able to explore almost all of the United States. Tony was a great outdoorsman, enjoying camping, fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing and four wheel driving. During later years, Tony suffered from poor health and then filled his time with doing stained glass work and coin collecting. Tony's many friends from both Wisconsin and Colorado, his brother Mike, his aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephew in Wisconsin, and especially Fran, will miss this gentle, kind-hearted man for many years to come. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 1 at Capadona's Funeral Home, 1020 E. Fillmore Ave., Colorado Springs beginning at 2:00. A celebration of his life will be held with food and drink at Howard's Pit BBQ following the memorial. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a donation be made to a charity of the donor's choice in loving memory of Tony.

Fran, Your strength through all of Tony's challenges was awe-inspiring. It is time now to allow those that love you, to be strong and support you.

Your love for Tony will endure, the happy memories will continue to bring a smile to your face; but it is your future happiness that will bring Tony peace in knowing that you, his dearest love, will still have joy in her life.

Much love and many blessings to you, now and as you move forward.
