TONY MARTIN SCHERB
November 21, 1961 September 12, 2019
Tony Martin Scherb went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on September 12, 2019. He was born in Teaneck, New Jersey to Joseph and Gwen Scherb. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, as well as his doting daughters, Erin (Derek), Kristin (Alan), and Alyssa. He will also be proudly remembered by his mother, Gwen, and his siblings, Steven, Karen (Mark), and Darren (Sherri). He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Scherb.
Tony will be remembered for his sense of humor, his desire to help others, and his unceasing faith. It brought him great joy to spend time with people and make them laugh. He truly never met a stranger.
Tony faithfully served the community with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office for 30 years. He performed his job as he lived his life, with integrity.
A service of remembrance will be held at Village 7 Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 3:00 pm.

Tony was the most lighthearted and fun instructor when I went through the EPSO academy (class 07-01). Remembering the good times and the laughs... https://youtu.be/d0Q2yLv5ilI?si=KW9HoD37DJPostAn

We could not have asked for anyone better to lead our marriage ceremony! He made the day absolutely perfect. So grateful to have known Tony and to see how much more fun life can be when we don't take it too seriously.

My condolences to the family. I managed a restaurant where he would visit along with his work buddies from the EPSO. It was always so nice to see him because like myself, he was the fun guy of the group, always smiling and having a great time. It's been a while since I had seen him. So when I seen his elevator video, I was like theirs my friend. Rest assured he is dancing and smiling down on us. RIP my friend.

Tony is in so many of our wedding pictures since he is the one who performed our wedding ceremony! We had the best wedding, full of laughter and fun since Tony was so kind to be up at the altar with us, leading us through our "I do's." Brian (my husband) and I met Tony when we each went through the EPSO training academy. His sense of humor, kindness, and attitude of not taking life too seriously will always be an example to me! I'll keep looking at those wedding pictures with Tony in them and remember the laughter and fun both at our wedding and all through the training academy. See you on the other side, Tony!!!
