Tracy Nelson Obituary

Tracy M. Nelson, 76, of Scottsbluff, NE, formerly of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.

He was born September 1, 1937 in Bayard, NE to Oswald and Vida Nelson.

After working in construction with the Nelson family, he pursued his desire to become an Architect becoming licensed in Nebraska, Wisconsin, Colorado and numerous other states. Among his many projects across the country, the Colorado Springs Police Operations building was one with which he took great pride.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cleora; daughter Suzie Wimmer (Wade) of Alliance; son Kent Nelson (Vikki) of Lovettsville, VA, daughter Carla Maly (Kevin) of Wayne, NE, step-daughters Jamie Elwood (Mike) of Honolulu, HI, Janine Mayo of Riverside, CA and step-son James Wisner (Elina) of Modesto, CA.; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Tracy was a member of Elks #309, in Colorado Springs and was instrumental in organizing the Thursday night Pool League.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private service will be held at a later date.

For those interested, the family suggests that any memorial contributions be made in Tracy's name to The Festival of Hope, Barbara Martinson, P.O. Box 377, Scottsbluff, NE 69363-0377.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Tracy's entire family. He will be missed by many. We shared many good times playing in the Tracy Nelson Pool League at BPO Elks Lodge #309.
