Trevor Vahle Obituary

Trevor James Vahle March 20, 1983 - March 17, 2006 Trevor Vahle was born in Phillipsburg, Kansas, in 1983 to James and Renee Vahle. Trevor went to rest in peace with his heavenly father on March 17, 2006. In his brief life, Trevor touched so many people. He was a lively and charming young man, whose energy and enthusiasm was infectious to those he encountered. Trevor had worked at numerous jobs, but he was most proud of his work with the elderly and handicapped as a Certified Nurse's Aid. In this profession, Trevor discovered his true gifts of compassion, and caring. He had a big heart, and a disarming, mischievous smile. Trevor grew up and attended school in Fruita, and took Med-prep classes at UTEC. He also spent a year in Clearfield, Utah with Job Corps. He spent many summers in Kansas, with his father, and Grampa and Gramma Vahle. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, camping or just having a picnic with family members. He also played baseball for a few years, and lettered in diving in high school. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Darrell and Barbara Vahle, and a step-grandfather, James DePriest. Trevor leaves behind a host of friends and loved ones. Surviving family and loved ones include his parents, Jim Vahle, of Prairie View, KS, Renee and Dennis Peck of Fruita, as well as his brother, Robert of Fruita, and stepfather David (Debbie) DePriest. Step-siblings; D.J. (Jackie) Peck, Jamie Peck and son, Jackson of Litchfield, IL and Melisa Peck of Wisconsin, his grandparents; Gary and Sandra Plymesser, of Grand Junction, step-grandmother; Florence DePriest, step grandparents; Willard and Dorothy Peck, of Arenzville, Il., uncles: Bob (Judy) Plymesser and family of Fredonia, KS and Robin Plymesser, of Fruita. Aunts include Carol (Kevin) Staab and family of Catherine, KS, and Rose (Larry) Grammon, and family of Canon City, Susan (Darrin) Chandler, and family of Sabetha, KS, Regena Plymesser, and daughter, Reshell (Cedar) Johnson and daughter of Rico, Colorado, Wilma (Leroy) Sickler of Fruita. He will also be missed by numerous cousins, and step cousins. A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23 at the Assembly of God Church in Fruita. Viewing to be allowed an hour before the service at the church, or the night before at Snell-McLean Funeral home in Fruita from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
