Family-Placed Death Notice

Mrs. Nellie Hollingsworth Reese, age 79, of Lithonia, died September 30, 2004. She was born December 25, 1924, in Pisgah Forest, NC. She worked as a riveter for Bell Aircraft during WWII. Nellie was also appointed in June 1977 as the first woman to serve on the DeKalb County Merit System Council and served as chairperson from 1984 until 1986. She also served on many other committees in DeKalb County. She has now joined her husband, George, her mother and father, Ed and Annie Hollingsworth and her sisters, Ruth Seymour, Dorothy Rogers and Alva Kimsey. She is survived by her children, Gary and Jane Reese, Ruan Reese and Lionel Brown; grandchildren, Cory and Tracey Reese, Clint Reese, Clay Reese; great-granddaughters, Dakota and Autumn Reese; sister, Anne Palmer of Cleveland, GA; and her canine family, Toby, Garrett, Nappy and Ruby. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Monday, October 4, in te chapel of Henry Funeral Home, with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. A graveside service at 4 o'clock will follow at Robertstown Cemetery in Robertstown, GA. Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5-8 and Sunday 1-3 and 5-8 at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia.
