What a beautiful, vibrant woman! She was dearly loved by her family at Heritage Baptist Church, and greatly appreciated for her group hugs, her quick wit, and her love for our Lord.

Dearest Step-Mama,
I think of you daily, and for as far away as I've been these last three years, miss you terribly.
To say "thank you" for all you've done for me and mine would be a gross understatement. From September, 2002, when you walked into my home with twinkling blue eyes, a great big smile and arms wide open, you brought joy to the Bauer clan. Most importantly, you cared for my precious papa during the last several years of his life in a way I could never adequately thank you for.
Not only for what you did for my dad, but for many other special things you did for me:
For the beautiful handmade gifts and cards;
For the fun and wisdom you brought into my life;
For the sage advice you gave me;
For holding my hand for hours the night Randy died;
For sharing your recipes;
For showing me how to be a gracious widow;
For fairy gardens,
And, for dragging your daughters across the country when David and I married to "give me away" in Dad's stead.
My world will not be same without you in it, but I so look forward to the next one with you walking toward me, no sickness, no sorrow, and with twinkling blue eyes, a great big smile and arms wide open. Thank you, Jesus, for giving us that hope. And thank you for Valerie Bauer.

I admired Val from the day I met her. She was full of energy, lively and intelligent. Her ability to speak extemporaneousily was amazing. I never tired of listening to her lovely British accent. She was physically and spiritually beautiful. We have lost a bright light. The angels of heaven will welcome her with joy.

Val was a wonderful friend and neighbor. We will miss our get-togethers - Rick will miss his Merlot buddy. We loved hearing her childhood stories growing up in England. She was a very special lady. May her family be comforted by the wonderful memories that have of her.
