Verla B. Lirley of Colorado Springs, Colorado went into the arms of her Lord and Savior on April 21, 2018 from her residence in Springs Village Care Center.
Verla was born to Carl and Marie Vocke in Holly, Colorado on January 29, 1931. She grew up and worked on the family farm until she met and married the love of her life, Ray D. Lirley in Clayton, New Mexico in 1948. After welcoming their first child, Kenneth in 1950, the Lirley family moved to Denver, Colorado and was soon joined by their second son, Rick. Verla enjoyed being a housewife and Mother to her two sons, keeping herself busy with Church, PTA, and volunteering whenever she could.
After the family moved to Colorado Springs, she briefly worked on a manufacturing line for TRW and Furr's Cafeteria. Verla rededicated her life and led her family to the Lord where she prayed for, and comforted all who crossed her path. Ray and Verla attended New Life Church for many years and were passionate in their faith. Verla loved going into the country for long drives and spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing large dinners for all who came to her home.
Verla is survived by her two sons, Kenneth and his wife, Monica and Rick Lirley, Granddaughter, Sarah and husband, Jake Bartlett, Grandsons, Scott and Bradley Fortner and eight great-grandchildren.
Verla was preceded in death by her Husband, and three Brothers, (Robert Lee, Willard, and Dale), also her Granddaughter, Heather Eilert.
The Lirley family would like to thank the staff at Springs Village Care Center for their tireless dedication and compassion, also the Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care team who greatly served Verla and family.
Services will be held at Mountain View Mortuary on Tuesday May 1, 2018 at 11:00am with Pastor Mel Waters presiding
