Verna Ellen Sorensen
August 11, 1925 - November 4, 2017
Verna Ellen Sorensen, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away in her home on November 4, 2017. She was born on August 11, 1925 in Sugar City, Colorado.
She is survived by four children: Vernon (Joyce) Sorensen, Carlos (Pat) Sorensen, Marla Gordon, and Merlin (Elaine) Sorensen: one sister, Kathleen Lister: Ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, nine step children and many other family and friends. Verna is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Jessie Leonard; her husband, Carl W. Sorensen; four sisters and five brothers; and one grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made in Verna's name to Pikes Peak Hospice or Church on the Ranch, both of which are in Colorado Springs.
A visitation will be 5:00pm to 6:00pm Friday November 10 at Evergreen Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 6:00pm Friday November, 10 at Evergreen Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Saturday November 11, 2017 at the Nazarene Church in Karval, Colorado, burial to follow at Karval Cemetery.
