Verne Slighter Obituary
Verne A. Slighter
August 5, 1928 - March 27, 2018
Verne Slighter, 89, born in East Syracuse, NY; died in Colorado Springs after a short time in Hospice care. He is survived by sons, Matthew and Mark,. brothers Al and Warren and sisters Polly Petersen and Laura Moreau.
His education included a BA from Boston University and an MA from Iliff School of Theology. He was ordained as a Methodist Pastor, served as a Chaplain in the US Army, and was an Associate Pastor at Faith Presbyterian church for a brief time.
Memorial services will be Thursday, April 5, 10:00am at Gateway Presbyterian church, 731 Castle Road, which he also attended frequently. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Gateway Presbyterian Church.

As the organization secretary and on behalf of the Highland Hills Senior Men's Golf Association, we would like to offer our belated but deepest condolences to the family of Verne (known to us as "Al") on his passing. "Al" was an important member to our association for many years here in Greeley and he will truly be missed. May "Al's" memory always be a blessing.

My favorite memory of Vern and Sue was going to their home in Crystal Hills for our very first "Second Saturday Supper". Their warm welcome and interesting conversation confirmed for us that we were part of the right congregation. Sincerely,
